Red Mountain Ranch Country Club

About
The golf course at Red Mountain Ranch & Country Club is a beautifully designed layout set against a desert landscape with rock formations, mesquite trees, and cacti. Pete and Perry Dye designed the course, combining both beauty and challenge. This championship course was built on rolling terrain and has large, sharply contoured greens and extensive mounding that is reinforced with railroad ties. There are not only deep sand bunkers but also grass bunkers protecting the greens. There are also four ponds on the course at Red Mountain Ranch & Country Club, but only three create water hazards that come into play on four holes. A notable hole on the course in which water comes into play is the sixth, a hole that has a peninsula green with water surrounding it along three sides.

Beautiful but sketchy conditions
This is such a beautiful layout!
It has great elevation changes,
spectacular vistas, and very difficult
traps. Should make for a very challenging
and enjoyable round, but the condition of
the fairways and greens makes it
disappointing. The price made it look
great until we started playing.
I wonder how the members feel.
Red Mtn
Great place. Even though scalping was starting, the course was in great shape. Never played until that day. Found it challenging and fun. Nice course.
Good value.
Greens were in great shape. Some tee boxes need work. Fairways missing grass in a few spots.
One of the best values in the East Valley right now for this time of
I played a lot of courses in the east side of Phoenix and this right now is the best value out there. It was one of the only courses that wasn’t charging fall pricing in the middle of summer. That’s insane normally as a resident during summer you get the benefit of TPC or Greyhawk at a great rate not $150-$200 still in August. That’s shameful. Not here. Course was in great shape. Staff was amazing. Can’t wait to play again.
Great value
Fun course layout! Elevation changes are challenge around the valley. Good conditions overall but bring some extra balls
Pete dye what a guy
Tough course definitely not somewhere to take beginners. Target golf and not many flat lies even in the fairway. Always a challenge but very rewarding.
Best Value in the area!!
Played here today. Course in great shape for August in Az. Great price for course condition. Not sure what happened to the great summer deal for golf in Az. Similar courses are $89-149 still. Crazy. This is a hidden gem.
Good course
Very challenging greens if you don’t land in good spot. Staff was super friendly and is always a plus in my book. I have zero complaints about this course.
A 50 dollar course
Played on 8/15, fresh off a rain storm so a perfect golf day. The gentleman at the register was extremely friendly and hooked our foursome up with two free bags of range balls before our tee time. The range was in decent shape, nothing special but i don’t like to hit many range balls before playing anyways. Starter was nice to begin with and explained the course very well. However, seeing him come up to us before even teeing off on the 3rd hole to tell us we were “way off pace” and that we need to really speed it up totally flipped the mood. Maybe it was the 2 twosomes you put behind us? After that, to be completely honest, our group didn’t change anything about our pace of play and we still made it back to the club house 7 minutes after 4 hours. Pair that with the iffy cut greens and splotchy fairways, i wouldn’t pay more than 50 bucks to play this course again.
Greens are patchy and not rolling well, fairways also very patchy lot of dead grass some of the tee boxes where alright some where completely bare i wouldn’t recommend especially for the price
Worth it before it gets too pricey
An AZ native, I've never had the pleasure of playing this course. Usually, nice ones such as this one are too pricey for me. In the summer, for $45, this was amazing! Were the fairways perfect? No. But neither is my game. Were the greens a little sandy and spotty? Yes. But so is my putting.
Book it. Enjoy it. Don't be boujee and expecting prime season conditions.
Challenging greens
Great course! Greens are tough, you need to land your chip shots onto the green properly or you’ll be three putting.
Red Mountain Ranch
Ciurse was in very decent shape other than slower greens at this time. Staff was very friendly.
Tough but rewarding.
I gave amenities a four simply because it was later in the day and the restaurant was closed, but the facilities are in good condition. A couple of the tee boxes could use some turf work, but overall it is in great condition for the time of year. Bring your A-game because you’ll need it. Not a lot of level level lies, even in the fairway. If you enjoy a challenge, this is your course, because even a great shot can catch a bad bounce and put you off your target line.
Best value in NE Mesa
Like the old days warm mid day golf with very few fellow golfers slowing your summer golf pace. Free ice and water to start and water on most holes to drink
