Superstition Springs Golf Club
About
The East Valley's Superstition Springs Golf Club offers one of Arizona's most testing layouts, measuring over 7,000 yards, with a slope rating of 130. Golf course architect Greg H. Nash designed the course and worked with the landscape already in place to provide the abundant mounding, wide bunkers and good-looking but tough-playing water features.
By the time he had finished with the Superstition Springs Golf Club, Nash had created a golf course that Golfweek called one of America's Best Golf Courses.
After - or before - a round of golf at the Superstition Springs Golf Club, hit up the restaurant for breakfast, lunch or drinks either inside or on the patio, which overlooks the golf course's signature hole, the ninth.

Bad Timing
The course had been scalped in preparation for over seeding and I didn’t know that until arriving. The condition of the course was terrible but the layout is very interesting and challenging. You can’t just hit driver on every hole like most courses.
Need to cut the grass
Pace of play was horrible! Grass to be cut and seems like no maintenance needs to be done on the course!
This course sucks due to lack of maintenance of any kind.
I have played this course years ago when it was a shining star. My buddies and I voted unanimously to quit after 9 holes. The traps were just packed mud. We constantly lost balls that we all saw land due to the grossly overgrown grass everywhere. If by chance some grass was mown then the clippings were just left on the ground. The green on # 8 had a pile of sand approximately 1/2 wheel barrow's load just dumped in a heap. This was my most disappointing attempt at a round of golf all year and I play appx 150 rounds per year.
Save your money. Go somewhere else.
Solid
Played here this past weekend. The greens were excellent! The bunkers on the other hand may have been some of the worst I have ever played in. If this course did a bunker renovation and took care of the other area on and around the course this could be a great spot.
You can do better
I used to like this course quite a bit. Haven’t played here in 5+ years due to a move. My revisit today was so so. The greens and fairways are in fine shape. But the rough along the fairways and greens is horrendous. So long and thick you can’t find a decently hit ball. If your ball isn’t on the fairway or green - there’s a 75% chance you wont find it. Not good for the average player of 15 handicap or above. Brutal, not very fun.
Absolutely Trashed
This course was filled with trash and smelled like sewage. It was in awful shape and was certainly not worth the money or the time.
Greens are nice but rough is too thick
Greens and fairways ran nice, but rough is 5 “ thick. Lost 5 balls that should have been playable two yards off the fairway
Condition has deteriorated
Used to like coming here but the course is unkempt if you’re even a little off the fairway. Grass clippings all over every hole, garbage around all of the ponds. Lost several balls in plain sight bc of the condition of the course.
Half kept
I was a bit saddened and frustrated with the course conditions. Many of the tee boxes weren’t level, so the ball was either above or below your feet when teeing off. The fairways were pretty decent, but the bunkers were awful. They were either mud or overgrown with grass and weeds. Also, the cart girl called in, so if you didn’t pack/buy enough water before the start, you were SOL. PS 80oz was not enough. The greens weren’t bad, except I think I’m the only person who repaired ball marks that day. Though the staff was friendly, I think the course isn’t worth the price.
Solid Course!
Played here this past weekend. I was a little worried about all the negative reviews on course conditions. However, when I showed up I was pleasantly surprised! The greens here are in great shape for summers in AZ. The fairways do have some burnt spots but almost every course in the valley does when its this hot. The rate was very inexpensive to play and the layout was fun. I will come back!
Sad to see.
I haven’t played this course in a little over a year, but I used to play it almost weekly for a few years. Really sad to see the shape it’s in now. Can’t say that I’m surprised to see I though knowing that Arcis bought it. They did the same thing to kokopelli and stonecreek. I wouldn’t play it again for free.
review
the grass was very long on the fairways and the tee boxes almost like it was rough, there was misquotes everywhere basically the entire round bugging me so i couldn’t focus on my golf game, the greens were in fairly good shape definitely think the price should have been cheaper for the conditions. Pace of play was very good though, carts had full gas tank but extremely slow hard to get up hills

Thanks so much for the feedback. We certainly were aggressive with our aerification this year. We knew it would be rough in the short term but would payoff. It will only get better and August and September will be great. Look forward to seeing you soon.
