Ahwatukee Country Club
The sun shines 350 days a year in Phoenix and you can enjoy this factor at Ahwatukee Country Club. "Ahwatukee" is Crow Indian for "house of dreams", but this could easily be the "golf course of dreams".
The semi-private Ahwatukee Country Club offers an 18-hole golf course designed by John Bulla in 1974 that is open year-round and includes a driving range, as well as a cart included in the greens fee. The golf course is par-72 and measures 6,713 yards from the championship tees.
The Ahwatukee Country Club golf course features a fairly wide-open layout, but has out-of-bounds areas on either side of the fairways - including some with houses, so watch out for those windows - as well as water hazards on some holes. The putting greens play fast.
After a tight front nine on the Ahwatukee Country Club golf course, things open up on a razor-sharp par-4 dogleg 10th hole, with no chance to cut corners: there's a towering forest to the left.

Worst course I have ever played
I booked a twosome and when we went to get a cart the cart guy/starter said we needed to pay $15 if we wanted individual carts. With the Covid Pandemic I have played at several courses in Phoenix and did not have to pay extra, this is a logical and safe way to play and be safe. So we go back to the pro shop and paid $15 , for one, went back to the starter and was told we both had to pay $15. Back up to the pro shop to have another discussion with the guy at the desk and ended up paying another $15. This is crazy. So our round went from $59 to $74.
Then we had a 10:22 tee time and when I went to the 1st tee I asked one of the guys waiting whet his tee time was and he said 10:22???????? What? Went back to the the part time starter and he said that they added tee times, what??? This is unbelievable...
With reference to the course condition, I warmed up at the range that had worn out ragged and dirty mats. On the course, it had large areas of open dirt in the middle of the fairways, potholes everywhere, the rough was smoother than the busted up cart paths. Leaving each tee box was like going off-road, big muddy potholes.
If I could, I would rate this course with a negative star. Totally run down dog patch.
Teed off on time.. excellent pace of play...very accomodating staff.
Discounted tee tkime
We had a 1:00 tee time and got there about 1/2 hour early. Nobody on the tee box. Asked if we could tee off early, he said we would ha be to pay the $ 10.00: more for the earlier tee time.. Our 3 some felt rushed with a 2 some behind us. If we could have tee off earlier , they would not have had to wait on every hole.
I think this policy needs to be revisited. I work as a starter on a golf course in Michigan & we always play ready golf.
Not covid preventive
The course was very playable fairly easy but had challenges, pace was good, fairways great but off fairway very dry. The bathrooms had no soap, there were rakes in sand traps, the holes didn't have donuts in them
we are late by 20 minute for our tee time. it tooked us 5 .30 minute to play. no ranger to keep the player move. we even called in to the shop because it tooked us 1 hour to played three holes. we have three 4 some sit in one hole waiting for their turn that is rediclous . i will not play there for while. paid 9 dollar on line to booked your tee time dont get much help either my as well just go pay athe course will be the same price.
Ahwatukee C C improving
This is a nice neighborhood course that has struggled over last few years but has been making steady improvements on grounds. Course was nicely over seeded and greens in excellent shape. Bunkers are still a bit inconsistent but ok. Some tee boxes are less level and rougher than I like, but not unusual for courses in their price range. Overall it is a nice course.
Painted diseased greens. Very weedy by trees. Tee boxes aren’t near level. If this course was maintained properly it would be a great layout.
