Ahwatukee Country Club
About
The sun shines 350 days a year in Phoenix and you can enjoy this factor at Ahwatukee Country Club. "Ahwatukee" is Crow Indian for "house of dreams", but this could easily be the "golf course of dreams".
The semi-private Ahwatukee Country Club offers an 18-hole golf course designed by John Bulla in 1974 that is open year-round and includes a driving range, as well as a cart included in the greens fee. The golf course is par-72 and measures 6,713 yards from the championship tees.
The Ahwatukee Country Club golf course features a fairly wide-open layout, but has out-of-bounds areas on either side of the fairways - including some with houses, so watch out for those windows - as well as water hazards on some holes. The putting greens play fast.
After a tight front nine on the Ahwatukee Country Club golf course, things open up on a razor-sharp par-4 dogleg 10th hole, with no chance to cut corners: there's a towering forest to the left.

Staff = Rude
Staff was rude but you get what you pay for I guess
Also, course is basically like playing at your local elementary school playground… all dirt
Deteriorating Conditions
I have played AGC a few times this year and been impressed with improvements and conditions. Last time out I noticed oil leaks on a green from a mower. This time out greens were not in good shape and many tee boxes were getting mulch and seed. Some bunkers had washed out and had gravel. It is unclear what has caused the deterioration (that I have not noticed at other courses), but I hope they get it solved. I really like the course and am rooting for them. It is still a decent value.
Friday Play
Greens were pretty rough, some covered in bird droppings some very dry and bald other just a rough cut. Grass seemed to have more weeds than we’d seen before. $90 was a bit high for the conditions
Phoenix golf with a smile
I got to play on a cool day with 3 average level players as myself. Great guys and good round.
Not worth it at half price
Very rough shape in alot of areas. Skanky puddles, ranger didn’t care ground under repair ropes & around the greens were mangled. Drove right by them. One and done.
Great Location Nice Course
Overall a very nice course. My only concern would be the greens need a little TLC.
Relaxing Round of Golf
Fairly simple and straightforward lay out. Nothing real challenging. Just a nice course with a good pace of play for quicker or slower groups. Wife and I enjoyed cold beer and not rush. If you are looking for bells and whistles and oohs and aaahhhs it’s not here. Just an average round of golf with a very easy going and relaxing nature. Average is just fine w this guy.
No better value this time of year
If you don't want to pay $100+, this is the c0urse for you!
Is it perfect? Absolutely not. Is your game perfect? Absolutely not. Greens are spotty on some holes and overall hard & fast. Hit your approach shot wisely because a hybrid is going to run off the back & across the street. It's a fun course that allows you to score so you're not leaving ready to quit golf. Management and greenskeepers are working tirelessly to get this place better day by day.
Course in disrepair
Sadly a total goat track. It's near some nice courses and has good views of the South Mountains but this course is in rough shape, especially when compared to Phoenix City courses like Aguila.
Greens are in bad shape
Front nine, greens are a bit inconsistent, but not too bad. Back nine, they are in very bad shape. Not sure what has happened to them but they are all patchy. Fairways are o.k.
Not worth the money
The greens the fairways the course was in poor shape and in no way by any stretch of the imagination worth paying $89.00 plus tax plus a fee if you use a credit card which came out to about $100.00. Don't waste your time and money on this course.. I wont play it again until they drop the price back down to where it should be...no more the $40.00. Beware, they charge a fee now if you use a debit/credit card. which they don't tell you. I would not have known if I had not looked at the receipt.
