Ahwatukee Country Club
About
The sun shines 350 days a year in Phoenix and you can enjoy this factor at Ahwatukee Country Club. "Ahwatukee" is Crow Indian for "house of dreams", but this could easily be the "golf course of dreams".
The semi-private Ahwatukee Country Club offers an 18-hole golf course designed by John Bulla in 1974 that is open year-round and includes a driving range, as well as a cart included in the greens fee. The golf course is par-72 and measures 6,713 yards from the championship tees.
The Ahwatukee Country Club golf course features a fairly wide-open layout, but has out-of-bounds areas on either side of the fairways - including some with houses, so watch out for those windows - as well as water hazards on some holes. The putting greens play fast.
After a tight front nine on the Ahwatukee Country Club golf course, things open up on a razor-sharp par-4 dogleg 10th hole, with no chance to cut corners: there's a towering forest to the left.

Golfer Reviews
Good first impression
First time playing this course. We were welcomed with super friendly staff. The course needs a little love but that will come with time. Will play again for sure. Can't say enough about the staff they are awsome and made playing much more enjoyable.
Ahwatukee GC
Always one of my Goto courses. Fairways a little ruff with high grass, down trees and bald spots. We just had a few storms roll through that doesn’t help the fairway conditions. Greens and tee boxes in good condition. Pace is a little slow on Tuesdays and Thursdays due to 2 foursome groups that play on those days.
Great course, great greens, great people
Love this course, the people that work here, and everything about it. Coolest course ever
Making Improvements
New ownership has made a massive difference. In less than two months, this course has gone from almost unplayable to a nice low budget option on the south side of town. While it doesn’t yet compete with places like Aguila or The Legacy, it finally seems like it’s moving in the right direction. Will certainly be playing this course more often.
Ahwatukee in August
Greens in good shape, everything else needs a lot of work. Fairways lacked grass and full of weeds. Aprons were spotty. Sand traps hadn’t been raked since who knows when. Hopefully the new owners will bring it back to be a good course.
BKR Awahtukee 8-9-2926
The last time I played this course it was in less than average condition. I purposely stayed away from playing the course for over a year with the hope that improvements would be forthcoming. Well it appears that no great effort to improve the course conditions. I will not be returning to this course anytime soon.
Yikes
Greens are fine. The rest of course is atrocious. Bare spots everywhere and tee boxes uneven. Weeds run rampant throughout. New mgmt needs immediate plan to improve. Stay away for now.
Comeback!
The last time I played this course was about 30 years ago. I grew up in Ahwatukee and this was the premiere course back then. Now looking at reviews and YouTube feedback, it looked like it has taken a bad turn. Now golfing there yesterday (7/27/26) it is turning around to be the legend it once was. First off, the greens were almost perfect. The tee boxes were green grass, and tender enough to appropriately set the tee at the right height. The fairways need a little help, but considering it’s July and under new, positive and motivated ownership, they will get better. The staff was awesome! We were told the Dobson Ranch management was now in charge as of a couple weeks ago. Dobson Ranch is awesome and if they can pull off the same make over they did there, this place will be awesome!
Greens were pretty nice but fairways were a bit rough. Was told they were just bought by another course/owner so hopefully they will see improvement. No water coolers or cart for drinks so that’s never good. Bring plenty of your own, for the money it wasn’t the worse course I’ve played. We will return at some point.
Exciting New Life
Been coming to this course on and off for over a decade. I've never had a memorable experience, until these last two visits.
There is new ownership and I came in on their first day and was greeted with excitement and promise of some exciting changes.
More impressive- I met the new GM on their first day and he remembered my name when I came back two weeks later. Everyone has been extremely friendly and hope it can stay this way.
The greens were great too!
Needs Work
This Course will be Legit with Deep Pockets. The Poor Course has changed many Hands. I have played the Course many Times. I know what it could be with the right Vision. Right now very rough shape. ( NO PUN INTENDED) I hope the new ownership can bring it Back. Lovely Layout. I hear they have Many plans for the Old Girl. Wish the Best.
Incredible vibe shift! This place is under new management and it shows 🙌
I stopped by this weekend and was so pleasantly surprised. The entire vibe of the place has completely shifted for the better. We were greeted by Brandon and Drew, who went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Their customer service is top-tier, and you can tell they really care about the community and the future of the spot. I’m seriously looking forward to seeing all the planned renovations. Definitely coming back soon!
Here’s Hoping
This was our first time playing the course. I had seen some reviews suggesting rough course conditions, but they did not prepare me for just how horrid the course conditions actually were. Thankfully, it sounds like they are under new ownership and new management (as of yesterday) and I hope to be able to update this review with a more positive one in the future.
In need of repair, good luck to new ownership
Fairways and tee boxes were awful. Greens in nice shape. Good luck to the new owners repairing this place. Pace of play was bad, considering I paid little on a hot deal I wasn't peeved.
