Ahwatukee Country Club
About
The sun shines 350 days a year in Phoenix and you can enjoy this factor at Ahwatukee Country Club. "Ahwatukee" is Crow Indian for "house of dreams", but this could easily be the "golf course of dreams".
The semi-private Ahwatukee Country Club offers an 18-hole golf course designed by John Bulla in 1974 that is open year-round and includes a driving range, as well as a cart included in the greens fee. The golf course is par-72 and measures 6,713 yards from the championship tees.
The Ahwatukee Country Club golf course features a fairly wide-open layout, but has out-of-bounds areas on either side of the fairways - including some with houses, so watch out for those windows - as well as water hazards on some holes. The putting greens play fast.
After a tight front nine on the Ahwatukee Country Club golf course, things open up on a razor-sharp par-4 dogleg 10th hole, with no chance to cut corners: there's a towering forest to the left.

Needs Work
This Course will be Legit with Deep Pockets. The Poor Course has changed many Hands. I have played the Course many Times. I know what it could be with the right Vision. Right now very rough shape. ( NO PUN INTENDED) I hope the new ownership can bring it Back. Lovely Layout. I hear they have Many plans for the Old Girl. Wish the Best.
Incredible vibe shift! This place is under new management and it shows 🙌
I stopped by this weekend and was so pleasantly surprised. The entire vibe of the place has completely shifted for the better. We were greeted by Brandon and Drew, who went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Their customer service is top-tier, and you can tell they really care about the community and the future of the spot. I’m seriously looking forward to seeing all the planned renovations. Definitely coming back soon!
Could Be Real Nice.
Needs Alotta Love..Hopefully New Ownership has Deep Pockets. Love the Layout. Played it many times.
Here’s Hoping
This was our first time playing the course. I had seen some reviews suggesting rough course conditions, but they did not prepare me for just how horrid the course conditions actually were. Thankfully, it sounds like they are under new ownership and new management (as of yesterday) and I hope to be able to update this review with a more positive one in the future.
In need of repair, good luck to new ownership
Fairways and tee boxes were awful. Greens in nice shape. Good luck to the new owners repairing this place. Pace of play was bad, considering I paid little on a hot deal I wasn't peeved.
Great for the money I usually play 9 holes but I played 18
Nice course but bathrooms were filthy.
Nice course but the bathrooms were filthy. Too bad, this would have been a perfect outing otherwise.
Right now at a low point
All review categories very positive except course conditions. Greens were an exception, they were fine. Fairways and tee boxes were marginal, many bald spots, muddy, etc but we did play in the early AM. As a local course, I appreciated AGC but they've got to get it together and keep it there.
what tee box?
The fairways were in good shape. About 1/3 of the greens need repair. Half the tee boxes had little to no grass. They need to make some temporary tee boxes and lay some sod on the permanent boxes and allow time to get them right.
Needs Improvement
We were 8 days away from SUMMER pricing and in the greater Phoenix AZ area those prices go down due to weather not conditions. The image uploaded is of the 18th Green, which was totally atrocious. The light spots on the green are NOT sand, they are BALD spots on the FINAL hole of the course. The price was ridiculous for the conditions. At least the weather was good. The fairways were far more brown than would (or should) be expected. At this time I would not recommend.
Adding 2nd picture of a sand trap which is filled with water and honestly there we ZERO sand traps that looked or felt like sand, mostly they were like concrete, no real sand.
Worst Course in Az
Great Staff but the course conditions were almost unplayable with the worst greens I’ve ever seen.
Bad course, good hot dogs
Definitely needs attention, very poor conditions and dirty conditions as well in the common use areas.
