Ahwatukee Country Club
About
The sun shines 350 days a year in Phoenix and you can enjoy this factor at Ahwatukee Country Club. "Ahwatukee" is Crow Indian for "house of dreams", but this could easily be the "golf course of dreams".
The semi-private Ahwatukee Country Club offers an 18-hole golf course designed by John Bulla in 1974 that is open year-round and includes a driving range, as well as a cart included in the greens fee. The golf course is par-72 and measures 6,713 yards from the championship tees.
The Ahwatukee Country Club golf course features a fairly wide-open layout, but has out-of-bounds areas on either side of the fairways - including some with houses, so watch out for those windows - as well as water hazards on some holes. The putting greens play fast.
After a tight front nine on the Ahwatukee Country Club golf course, things open up on a razor-sharp par-4 dogleg 10th hole, with no chance to cut corners: there's a towering forest to the left.

Overseed looks goid
Had a great time with my son. When the new grass is mowed a few times conditions will be better. We will be back.
Great course Value
The new seeding was coming through nicely in most areas. a few bad spots on the fairways probably because it got very hot after they seeded. Greens were a little slow which was to be expected. Enjoyed the round very much.
Had a good round
We had fun. The new grass is coming in nicely. It added about 1/2 stroke per hole due to the length. Greens were slow. There was veryy little l run out on any shot because of the length and stickiness of the grass
It will be nice when all grown in a d mowed
Very Slow Play
Overall the course was in decent shape for the few. Unfortunately, their website had 90 degree rule posted but due to overseeing it was cart path only. The play was slow because of overbooking, but I would try again in the future.
Struggling to improve
This course is trying to improve but can’t seem to catch a break. Although greens were pretty good, the winter grass is struggling to come in and doesn’t appear over seeding has been very successful. They seeded in an early slot and it has been hotter than usual; bad luck I guess. Water coolers on course were empty and service in clubhouse not too enthusiastic. It was a Wednesday so maybe humpday blues. I worry the conditions won’t improve. Hope I am wrong.
In process
Looks like the owner wants to upgrade the facilities but they should have disclosed it was CPO because overseeing. Long way to go
Rough Conditions
Wasn’t notified when booking that they were closing down the range for overseed. Putting and chipping green were still being mowed when we got there.
Also, greens are insanely slow. No sand in the bunkers at all. Shavings of mowed greens were still on the greens when we played so it was insanely difficult and annoying to putt.
Just a poor municipal level experience
They are really starting to grow grass again but overall this is a muni dog track. Tee boxes long and shaggy. Fairways were hit miss whether you had clover, dirt, or good grass. Greens were decent but decent is all. If you can get a $10 deal I’d do it (that’s what I did) otherwise spend your money somewhere else or in their newly installed Indoor Facilities.
No Ranger on course to keep the pace up
Course is not in great shape gopher holes all over the place. The greens I don't believe were cut at least I hope they won't cut the day we played. At one point on the back nine there was three groups backed up because nobody was there to make people stay on Pace
Not horrible. Wouldn’t want to pay more than $30 right now
Definitely not one of your top notch courses around the valley. Will be interesting to see how the course looks come winter time. Lot of dirt paths and spotty grass for the fairways. Thought tee boxes and greens were in really good shape for this time of year and no complaints about them. Probably the worst thing I’ve noticed is most courses. If you don’t play before 10 or after 12 and you play in that 10 to 12 range, you tend to wait if you’re playing by yourself, which I did. Three guys in front of me, two guys in front of them, and four guys in front of them and they were all new golfers and hackers. Pretty slow play however they did wind up on the back nine letting me through until 18 when I caught the four guys. Would play again though.
