The sun shines 350 days a year in Phoenix and you can enjoy this factor at Ahwatukee Country Club. "Ahwatukee" is Crow Indian for "house of dreams", but this could easily be the "golf course of dreams".
The semi-private Ahwatukee Country Club offers an 18-hole golf course designed by John Bulla in 1974 that is open year-round and includes a driving range, as well as a cart included in the greens fee. The golf course is par-72 and measures 6,713 yards from the championship tees.
The Ahwatukee Country Club golf course features a fairly wide-open layout, but has out-of-bounds areas on either side of the fairways - including some with houses, so watch out for those windows - as well as water hazards on some holes. The putting greens play fast.
After a tight front nine on the Ahwatukee Country Club golf course, things open up on a razor-sharp par-4 dogleg 10th hole, with no chance to cut corners: there's a towering forest to the left.

Greens were for the most part pretty good. Most of the course needed more grass.

The volunteer Marshall did nothing to cause the group holding up the entire end of the day field from hitting two and three practice shots on each hole. Making a 5.5 hr round NOT ACCEPTABLE

Worst course conditions. Don’t make my mistake of playing here.
Dead greens. Dead rough, not just not over seeded. Dead and bare. No sand in bunkers. Actually think the course design is fun. Too bad it’s in this type of shape. There isn’t a low enough price that yields value for these conditions. Obscene to charge $100.

Not worth it
Too much bare ground to play off of. Greens were rough and unkept. 6 beers were $30.00. Charged about $40.00 too much to play here. Especially for the condition of the course. Not a nice course

Tired & beaten up
Unfortunately this course might have seen better days but most likely years ago. The clubhouse is your standard muni which is serviceable and efficient. The tee boxes are worn while the fairways are in decent shape but the grass is too short. If you get even a foot off the fairways you are playing off of really dormant dead grass, rocks, or sand. The greens are mediocre at best which appears that when the grass is dead or dormant staff spray paints those sections. We paid $31 per person for a 3:15 tee time. It was busy and it took us 3 hours to play 9 holes. It wasn’t worth more than that. My suggestion is to take your money to TopGolf and spend it there versus this course.

Disappointed
This course has great potential but in its current condition it is a major disappointment. For a Parkland muni style course, the layout is interesting enough to be very enjoyable Without going into specifics, this property needs a major renovation and restoration that would probably require at a least a couple million dollars. I’ve played this course for a number of years and it seems to be going from bad to worse.

Greens EXTREMLY poor - cart paths absolutely 100% the worst I have ever seen! waay too much hard pan - although it was much easier driving on that than the cart paths!

Horrid greens. way too much hardpan
Greens were in im awful shape. And there is way too much hardpan. Made worse by being charged close to $100 .00 green fee. Disgraceful!!
