The sun shines 350 days a year in Phoenix and you can enjoy this factor at Ahwatukee Country Club. "Ahwatukee" is Crow Indian for "house of dreams", but this could easily be the "golf course of dreams".
The semi-private Ahwatukee Country Club offers an 18-hole golf course designed by John Bulla in 1974 that is open year-round and includes a driving range, as well as a cart included in the greens fee. The golf course is par-72 and measures 6,713 yards from the championship tees.
The Ahwatukee Country Club golf course features a fairly wide-open layout, but has out-of-bounds areas on either side of the fairways - including some with houses, so watch out for those windows - as well as water hazards on some holes. The putting greens play fast.
After a tight front nine on the Ahwatukee Country Club golf course, things open up on a razor-sharp par-4 dogleg 10th hole, with no chance to cut corners: there's a towering forest to the left.

Eh... It works
This course was affordable for the day. But the greens were awful. The grass was ok but the pace of play was quite rough...

worst experience ever
This course is by far in the worst condition of any course i have played. The greens are basically all dead grass and patchy no ball plays true on them. Also the pace of play is insanely slow. i was there on a monday afternoon and i only made it to the 15th hole at 4 hours.
This place has a lot of potential to be a really nice course, but they definitely need to give this place a make over.
I also was charged 60$ to play here, and honestly it’s not even worth more than 20$ to me.
i’m not one to bash a business and i’m not trying to i’m just being honest and hopefully we see some changes, won’t be back anytime soon

Awful greens ruined a good course
The greens were in such awful shape that it's impossible to give any review other than 1 star. The fairways were in decent shape and the course overall was a fun layout with some good challenges, but the greens were so terrible that none of that mattered in the end. The greens had so many dead spots and bumpy areas that putting was impossible. There were little tufts of grass here and there surrounded by dirt, so it was like putting on a washboard. They even painted some of the exposed dirt green to try and blend it in a bit better. It didn't, the greens were absolutely atrocious. There are also better value courses nearby, so this is a course I won't be coming back to and couldn't recommend to anyone else.

Golf only with good deal
Greens are really bad. Seems like dirt on greens painted green to hide bare spots. Fairways okay, but rest is dirt. Pace of play terrible which makes it even worst. Upside is staff is really friendly a d drink cart gets around at a really good pace.

Poor Greens
Friendly Staff; fast play, fairways fair, subpar greens. Apparently fall reseeding did not take.

Need to lower prices
Fairways in decent shape but the greens are crusty and difficult to putt on. Course condition overall is so-so for the amount of money to play the course. Need to lower the price for me to play again as well as all the other courses in the Phoenix valley. seems like everyone is taking advantage of golfers this year because of WMS, super bowl, and spring training

bumpy and painted greens
when golf is expensive in the winter this course is available to play at decent rate. You get what you pay for
If you stay in the fairway you are ok but off the fairway hitting off dirt or wood chips. Greens are the worst part of this course . Bumpy and painted and not much grass on them . Sand traps decent sand .
You live with the conditions and move onto other courses in the summer

Nice layout - great pace
Nice layout. Fairways and tees in good condition. Greens slow and a bit bumpy. Staff was very friendly.. Pace of play excellent for our 4some mid-morning. Under 4 hours.

Ahwatukee Golf Club
Tried to like the course, as we got on for only $30.00 each. Try as we might, we probably won't be back, as the greens are a mess, with many dead spots, and noticeably, very little watering of fairways and greens, with septic odors in several spots, out on the course. A large bucket of practice balls for $15.00 plus tax, was way too much, and the restaurant was a basic bar, without much food.

Greens are really rough and bumpy
As stated in the title, the Greens are really rough and bumpy.
There is no rough - it's all hard pan dirt.
Fairways were average.
Overall I would not play this course again.

pace of play
They need rangers on the course to speed up play. Three groups backed up on par three's is excessive. The greens will need to be reworked and not just painted. This will require warmer weather to help with the repairs.
