Greener
Pass of play was not great. Many singles and twosomes. Should be joining up groups especially when fully booked. No control really as to each tee time going out at the booked time. Check in person didn't care, we were early, said just go but make sure group ahead is far enough ahead before hitting.
Toilets on course fairly acceptable but no hand sanitizer in the dispensers.
Unfriendly staff
Head guy scolded us upon leaving after we turned carts into wash area. Came out to our car and said we left a bottle in our cart and that we should have removed it. Sorry but that’s his job! Lazy! So much for promoting the course he works at. The four of us will never return.
Disappointing, but tons of potential
Overall, the course could be so much more. Great layout, but it was a little unkempt when we played. Biggest disappointment is that when we attempted to modify our reservation to add one more player, the phone number wouldn't go through. Then, a request made online was never responded to.
It’s Coming Along!
The resuscitation of The Lakes is progressing. I for one am glad it’s happening. I’ll keep playing here and I’m excited to see how the place evolves.
Needs some maintenance
I think this is the course that closed for a while and it still looks like it! the layout wasn't too bad and definitely challenging. The greens were NOT great - very bumpy. The course had lots of tall weeds.
There was water on the front, but the lakes on the back were empty and full of weeds. The fairway wasn't bad.
It was inexpensive and I was playing with beginners, so it was fine for my needs for that day.
Glad it’s there.
This course is a work in progress but I’m glad it’s open and available, at least there is someplace to play that is not booked up a month in advance this time of year.
Very nice course
Very nice course for the money. Greens still a little rough, especially the back nine. But to be expected, since the back nine opened last fall. Very nice layout. Will play again.
Bruster
Booking at 9 minute is unfair for the type of player on this course ; backup on every hole. Some irrigation would help. No GPS available & hole signage is inaccurate. Has some potential.
I understand they are working on getting the course in shape after being closed for a while. We waited at least 5 minutes on every tee box to hit. Also the portapotty by the clubhouse was full of waste and TP to an inch below the seat, at least have it emptied out before it gets that gross.
Never Again
We played this course for the first time expecting a normal golf day and it was anything but that. First off we show up and no one told us where the 1st hole was so we drove around for a while before we finally stopped and asked someone. We had a scheduled tee time and ended up behind because everything was backed up. We had to wait minimum of 10 minutes each hole before we could even play and after putting we had to wait for 2 groups before we could drive again and we played for over 2 hours and didn’t even make it to hole 6. We were so backed up and my wife had to use the restroom and the only thing available was a porter potty which she reluctantly used and it was disgusting! The crap in the hole was piled so high she was afraid it would touch her if she sat down. Not to mention all the trash everywhere, they clearly don’t take pride in their course. We ended up leaving at hole 6 and couldn’t even play a full 9 holes because we couldn’t even move at a reasonable pace. Do yourself a favor and save your money for a golf course that actually cares about their space.
Great cost effective executive course to improve your golf
Love this course as it offers challenging holes which allow you to improve your golf game. Cost is cheap by winter standards offering a much better experience than the more expensive courses. Some holes may not be well maintained but I've seen holes is worse condition at more prominent and much more expensive courses. Course offers ease of play, without being harassed by rangers to keep up. No amenities on the course, but you can bring your own.
