Great laid back short course
Good place for a beginner or to bring kids. No club house or any drinks so be prepared. Good deal for the money.
The Lakes
This was the first time playing this course (9 holes) since it re-opened. There are no carts so you either have to carry your clubs or use a hand cart. The weather was awesome and made walking very nice.
The greens were in nice shape. The sand in the traps was weird, kind of like snow slush and not very sand like at all. There are still a number of "lakes" that are not filled up. I wonder why? Of the lakes that did have water, some of them had some very nasty looking sludge floating on top. I also noted the putting green by the driving range was in great shape. There driving range is to be congratulated for allowing players to hit off of grass rather than that awful artificial turf. Despite a handful of issues, I will play the course again because the price is right and hopefully the other nine holes will open up soon.
Rough but okay
My first round of 2022, this course was prefect. Nothing fancy, big enough, good tee box and greens, price. I only didn’t like that there was no check in Vm club house and the kids doing it weren’t friendly nor overly helpful for a first time.
Warm/up coarse
Coarse is still being worked on. Only front 9 is in service. Had be closed for a number or years.

Great future
What a course this could be. Fantastic little layout for an executive course. Needs work of course, but if the owner has the Will to put a little effort into it we’ll have the best little course in Ahwatukee. I really hope the actually try to fix it up. Won’t take much, but it could be a real gem!
Making a comeback
This course has been a closed eye-sore for several years. But add water - and it is back on its way to being a fun executive course in Ahwatukee.
The greens are already up to expectations for in inexpensive AZ course, and they're going to get better. The layout is mature; full size trees and water hazards (with wildlife).
It is a long way from having manicured fairways and a comfortable clubhouse. But it is great to see that the comeback has started.
Good value for beginners
For a course under redevelopment this course provided good value. Fairways are coming along but greens are adequate. A little clean up in the waste areas would be nice. A great layout for beginners as they can use their whole club selection. Course was almost empty so pace of play was excellent..
What staff?
Thought I would show up early to hit some range balls. The guy with the folding chair didn’t show up until after I finished 9. I should have just kept on playing another 9 for free to avoid writing this bad review for how I could have played for free if I didn’t prepay online and show up before the one guy that works there. Bugs on bugs on bugs with sides of bugs
Soft opening great for a mother son day off
The course is still under renovations, but for the price, the range and 9 holes for a day off school and work was worthwhile.
Needs work
It’s not a bad course but still needs a lot of work done on it. Example water holes really smell.
An decent attempt
Course is starting to come back… with rumors of back 9 opening around Sept of this year. Having said that, this is currently a 9-hole “executive” walking course. Fairways and greens are in better condition than one would think, and the white sandy bunkers seemed to play well. The drawback of course is anywhere there isn’t grass… plays on dirt and weeds. Decent amount of water and bunkers make some of the Par 3s seem a little smaller…which is good for those looking to work on hitting their targets more. The Par 4s are somewhat drive-able but have the dogleg left feel. More so easier getting on in 2 and hoping for that 1 putt. Not much else… especially concerning staff. One day had a gentleman sitting at a small table to check us in and hand over a score card. Next day the young man came over from the range in his cart and just verified we checked in and pre-paid online. Both cases we rented a push cart for the clubs…which carries a $5 fee. We didn’t hit the range, so I’m unsure how much that costs. Finally… to get to the first tee box, you either can cross the road from the parking lot, or there is a tunnel underneath 44th st to across. We will definitely go back since it is quite fun to play a different 9-hole course in the area. It would be nice if the green fee ($18) allowed for multiple plays, but I know this course is trying to make a come back. Here’s being hopeful the course can return to what it used to be many years ago. Cheers!
Promising
Fairways and greens were decent enough to play on. Everything else was an apocalyptic wasteland. Looks like they’re working on it, so I look forward to better overall conditions in the future
Will be great
Played with my wife, a beginner. Lots of restoration to finish, but when complete, this'll be a GREAT short course. In the meantime, the fairways and greens were in very good condition. Traps, those that have been renovated, were among the best in the Phoenix area.
Good warm up practice
I hope they continue to maintain and improve this new course
