Golfer Reviews
Foothills Golf Club Outing
The tee boxes and fairways are in great shape, and the scenery and course layout are excellent. Range balls are included in the price.
The rates are lower than normal because the owners of the course are not happy with the conditions of the greens, but I found them to be fine. There are still two temporary greens, but otherwise, I had no complaints at all.
I have played the course several times in the last few weeks, and have enjoyed it tremendously each time.
Course is still in need of repair!
Front nine had recovered and played nicely, but the back nine sere horrendous.
Fairways like carpet!
The nicest course I've played in Arizona yet! Two temp greens didn't matter. Very challenging. Scary bunkers around the green. Worst score for me personally, but it was worth the challenge. Hope to be back
First time back
For being closed for renovations, not thinking they got their moneys worth. New grasses I guess.
Better than I expected!
Already looking to get back to the Foothills. I played in November before they shut down in December and reopened and it’s night and day difference. The only draw back is the 2 temporary greens. Everything but the 2 temporary greens is in excellent shape. Go play before they shut down June 1 till November again. They doing a great job and making the course look amazing!
Beautiful course
3 temporary greens otherwise great condition.
Would of been helpful knowing the yardage of the temporary greens.
The food in the clubhouse was delicious - did breakfast before and a snack afterwards.
We'll worth it, even with a few temp greens
Went in knowing 3 of the greens were temporary and even with that the course overall is in good to very good condition. At this price it's worth playing more than 75% of the courses. The fairways are overall in great shape.
The team at the Foothills is doing the right thing, making players aware, pricing below what they could charge, and offering food and drink deals. No doubt that when they resume play after closing for summer it will be one of the best courses in the EV. Go out and play before they close in May.
Future
Not an easy course. Price substantially discounted due to reseeding of the greens. Fairways are excellent. When Foothills completes their updates, get ready for a price increase. It will compare to many of the better clubs in the west valley.
Waiting on new greens
Im a snowbird and this was my favorite course in the area. Troon took over and made improvements. Tees and most fairways are much better, but greens are very slowwww. Three are temp. They are waiting on grass to root deeper so they can mow shorter??
Still like the course and employees are nice and trying to make the best of the situation. Overall enjoyed round and price was good even considering the issues.
Too many bunkers and 2 greens were not available love the setting
With the exception of the 3 holes with the temporary greens (11-13) the course was in very good shape and pace of play excellent.
