So close to the hole in one....whaaaa Photo submitted by BLaycock on 02/02/2014
The course was diarrhea. Greens were total crap. Every hole I thought it was the worst hole ever, until the next crop dusting! Do not play here!
STILL a bad course
Been a while since I played here and now I remember why. What a waste. It's not worth my time to play such a horrible course. More dirt than grass, and the greens are horrible. Unless you are just starting out playing golf, stay away from PV.
Don't Expect Anything Great
I used to live in Scottsdale over four years ago and would go to Paradise Valley Golf Course every so often just to stay in form if I couldn't get to one of my favorite courses. Never was an awesome place, but I thought time would change it.
Greens were decent, but the fairways, tee boxes, and surrounding areas on the golf course were a little less to be desired. LOCALS or FREQUENT USERS have some kind of special treatment there. I asked someone what his tee time was to see if he was golfing with us. I was answered with 'No matter what tee time you have I am always first..." I didn't react and just went back inside to ask the cashier what the man was talking about to only be met with an attitude from him ALSO! I decided there will be no strike three and I won't even get a snack or drink on the turn. We let the two on the tee box at our scheduled time go ahead of us, and my wife and I golfed by ourselves! One positive action was on hole 18. After looking for my ball for almost 4 minutes, my wife found it in the cup for an eagle!!!!!
So, if you are looking for a smooth operating course like Kierland (Scottsdale) or Stonecreek (Phoenix) Golf Courses be prepared to take a deep breath and don't expect anything. In fact, stay away if you are a serious golfer. Unless I am desperate just to hit a golf ball and nearby, this place will be a distant memory.
Unfriendly staff, poor conditions
Conditions are horrible. Some holes are barely playable. Staff is unfriendly. The manager came out of the clubhouse screaming at me and my kids, accusing us of trying to “steal 9 holes of golf”. I was forced to show him my receipt for 18 holes before he would leave us alone. After the round he told us he “thought we were someone else”. I don’t see any other foursomes there consisting of a middle aged man, two teenage boys and a 10 year old girl, so I don’t think I buy that excuse. Almost turned off mg daughter to the sport being berated by an aggressive man on the golf course.
Sad, sad, sad...
Played here since 15 years, the last 3 years are sad. It is getting worse and worse. Now the tee boxes are not existing anymore. My recommendation is half the size of all greens, no fairways on par 3's (desert area) and only a 20 yard fairway for the par 4's and par 5's and maybe get artificial turf for the tee boxes. Saves a lot of water and maintenance.
Paradise Valley Golf Club
Putting greens were in good condition. Fairways need seeding and watering.
Paradise Valley Golf Course
Putting greens were in good condition. Nice course to use the irons and wedges, with a mix of Par 3, some Par 4 and a Par 5.
Not worth your time
I knew the grounds were not in great shape but for the price, would have been worth it. But the pace of play ruined any chance I'll go back.
Sept 21
Dirt everywhere, no grass except for the greens. You get what you pay for! Technically it's really an Executive Course and that was not clear on the Golf Now app. They have one par 5 (really a 4) and a couple of short par 4s, that's it
COURSE WAS IN POOR CONDITOING
COURSE NEEDED WATERING , MOWING , CLEANUP , NEW CART PATHS , ETC.
