Lookout Mountain Golf Club at Pointe Hilton Tapatio Cliffs Resort receives distinctions: Golf Digest placed it among the top 450 U.S. public courses, and it regularly features among Arizona's best 25 golf course. It doesn't hurt that the golf club regularly hosts eye-catching affairs like the Harmon Killebrew Invitational, the Royce Clayton Charity Classic and the Phoenix Suns Scramble. The golf course itself offers lush greens that entwine with the Sonora Desert's terrain, which the golf club says it carefully preserves, and features 18 holes of championship golf in tandem with magnificent scenery and plenty of challenges.

There's a fairly good chance that golfers will catch sight of a quail or coyote out on the Lookout Mountain Golf Club at Pointe Hilton Tapatio Cliffs Resort, and management asks that layers give the critters the right of way. In order to ensure golfers' shots go straight and don't snag in a cactus or chuckwalla, the club offers both individual and group glf lessons. This is also a place to enroll in the Hilton Golf Academy.

That's before the round at the Lookout Mountain Golf Club, though: Afterward, mosey on back to the 19th hole, called the Pointe In Tyme, for the drinkables and eatables.

No Sand Troon

Nice golf course.Nice layout. Real challenge.Great views from 9-10th holes. Forced carries were challenging.

Here's my beef-no sand in the traps. Rather difficult to hit a bounce club off blacktop. Disappointed in Troon and what I paid to play. Expected better conditions. Spend some money...

Great round of golf

Lookout is exactly what you would expect, great views and a fantastic layout. The course layout is exception with great diversity in all the holes. I used almost every club in my bag. It was in great condition. My only complaint would be the driving range. They use mats which I think does not give you a true assessment of how an individual is hitting their irons.

The back 9 has lots of elevation change and sloped fairways. The greens are well maintained and some have a lot of slope. It is challenging course but worth the experience.
