Lookout Mountain Golf Club at Pointe Hilton Tapatio Cliffs Resort receives distinctions: Golf Digest placed it among the top 450 U.S. public courses, and it regularly features among Arizona's best 25 golf course. It doesn't hurt that the golf club regularly hosts eye-catching affairs like the Harmon Killebrew Invitational, the Royce Clayton Charity Classic and the Phoenix Suns Scramble. The golf course itself offers lush greens that entwine with the Sonora Desert's terrain, which the golf club says it carefully preserves, and features 18 holes of championship golf in tandem with magnificent scenery and plenty of challenges.

There's a fairly good chance that golfers will catch sight of a quail or coyote out on the Lookout Mountain Golf Club at Pointe Hilton Tapatio Cliffs Resort, and management asks that layers give the critters the right of way. In order to ensure golfers' shots go straight and don't snag in a cactus or chuckwalla, the club offers both individual and group glf lessons. This is also a place to enroll in the Hilton Golf Academy.

That's before the round at the Lookout Mountain Golf Club, though: Afterward, mosey on back to the 19th hole, called the Pointe In Tyme, for the drinkables and eatables.

Excellent course

This course has a little bit of everything. Helpful to have played with someone who played it before as there are some hidden trouble. Staff was very friendly. Range is in good shape and well stocked with practice balls. I will absolutely try to play this course in the future.

Birthday Round

Book Lookout for my son's birthday. We had a great time. It's a little pricey but the staff is great, the fairways and greens are in great shape, and the bunkers were at least playable. We finished in 4 1/2 hours which was great for a holiday mid-day round.

Long live Lookout Mountain

Hands down, one of the most fun courses to play with the challenge increasing with each hole as you wind through the mountains. Love the layout, greens running fast today! As always, top notch staff and a great time with couple I was paired up with (shout out to Elizabeth and Brian!). Will be back over and over again.

2 different nines.

Good course overall. The check in 1/4 mile away from the golf course is really a different and inconvenient.

Front nine is pretty straightforward but the course gets tougher as you go and has some great challenging holes on the back along with great views and vistas.

Surprised and disappointed

I am a VN veteran with combat related PDSD . I always request a single cart when I play single. I was disappointed that I had to pay an additional $35 for a solo cart. The pro shop was extremely uncaring when I asked for a discount.

Surprised and Disappointed

I am a VN veteran who suffers, in part with PTSD and playing golf is one major way I to ease the pain. Wherever I play I request a solo cart and up until playing Lookout, I have never had any push back. This course has the audacity to charge an additional $35 for a solo cart!!! I will not recommend this course to anyone.

Fantastic course

Played here with my brother while on vacation. It was my second time playing it and it did not disappoint! The staff was extremely courteous and helpful. The course was in tip-top shape and the elevation changes on the back nine were amazing. Hint: don’t pull into the first driveway by the starter shack, you have to check in at the pro shop up by the Hilton hotel first and get your cart up there.
