Lookout Mountain Golf Club at Pointe Hilton Tapatio Cliffs Resort receives distinctions: Golf Digest placed it among the top 450 U.S. public courses, and it regularly features among Arizona's best 25 golf course. It doesn't hurt that the golf club regularly hosts eye-catching affairs like the Harmon Killebrew Invitational, the Royce Clayton Charity Classic and the Phoenix Suns Scramble. The golf course itself offers lush greens that entwine with the Sonora Desert's terrain, which the golf club says it carefully preserves, and features 18 holes of championship golf in tandem with magnificent scenery and plenty of challenges.

There's a fairly good chance that golfers will catch sight of a quail or coyote out on the Lookout Mountain Golf Club at Pointe Hilton Tapatio Cliffs Resort, and management asks that layers give the critters the right of way. In order to ensure golfers' shots go straight and don't snag in a cactus or chuckwalla, the club offers both individual and group glf lessons. This is also a place to enroll in the Hilton Golf Academy.

That's before the round at the Lookout Mountain Golf Club, though: Afterward, mosey on back to the 19th hole, called the Pointe In Tyme, for the drinkables and eatables.

Great course!

Very well maintained course. Nice views and great course layout. Friendly staff and pace of play is just right. You can easily loose a ball if you don’t stay in the fairways. Lots of desert areas to work around, for this is like a target course where you definitely need to pick a spot where you want to land your ball, or it will be on the rough part of the desert. So bring extra balls just in case. Don’t forget to take pictures on the back 9 when you stop for drinks and foods and for rest room breaks, for this is the spot for that, and teeing off from that hill, for I think it’s the best view you can ever see from that course. Tees and markers are just a grab from the check point area as well. Tee time was 1:10 and finish just in time before it gets dark in wintertime. Definitely playing here again. Just check Golfnow for hot deals.

Always good

Greens are rolling true and fast. Always in great shape, summer and winter. Staff goes out of their way to make sure your experience is great. All the local resorts should make their guests feel the way Lookout Mountain and Hilton does.

Great job staff.

Over priced for the course

Course was in fair condition. The pace of play was good. The greens were too fast and the pin placements didn't make it any better. The carts are outdated, no GPS was available on them. We felt the course was overpriced for what you got.

Nice Course

It was the last course we played for the week and was great. The clubhouse and 1st tee are nothing special, but once you make it to the heart of the course, it's really nice. Some beautiful views and dramatic elevation changes.

Excellent course

This course has a little bit of everything. Helpful to have played with someone who played it before as there are some hidden trouble. Staff was very friendly. Range is in good shape and well stocked with practice balls. I will absolutely try to play this course in the future.

Birthday Round

Book Lookout for my son's birthday. We had a great time. It's a little pricey but the staff is great, the fairways and greens are in great shape, and the bunkers were at least playable. We finished in 4 1/2 hours which was great for a holiday mid-day round.

Long live Lookout Mountain

Hands down, one of the most fun courses to play with the challenge increasing with each hole as you wind through the mountains. Love the layout, greens running fast today! As always, top notch staff and a great time with couple I was paired up with (shout out to Elizabeth and Brian!). Will be back over and over again.

2 different nines.

Good course overall. The check in 1/4 mile away from the golf course is really a different and inconvenient.

Front nine is pretty straightforward but the course gets tougher as you go and has some great challenging holes on the back along with great views and vistas.
