McCormick Ranch Golf Club features two lush manicured year-round courses amid the lovely views of Scottsdale. Both the Palm and Pine golf courses' championship tees lay to over 7,000 yards, and there are also the options of men's, seniors' and ladies' tee sets to allow everyone a crack at the tests offered by these golf courses.

Golf Illustrated selected the ninth hole of the Palm Course at the McCormick Ranch Golf Club to be "One of the USA's Top 18 Water Holes." It's just one of 10 water holes on the golf course, which, as you might imagine, also features lots of big palms. In all, the golf course plays to over yards from the blue tees, including four par-5 holes that measure over 500 yards.

A round of golf on the Palm Course at the McCormick Ranch Golf Club kicks off on the par-4 first hole, which plays close to 400 yards from the blue tee and requires a drive right-center to ensure a short-iron second shot.

What happened to this place?

The new greens were understandably firm and fast, but I was surprised by how poor the rest of the course has become. Fairways were beat up and probably deserved “ground under repair” flags throughout. Puddles of water in bunkers and other areas in the late afternoon don’t make sense to me given the lack of rain water. The course is a patchwork of sand, mud, hard pan, etc. on greens and fairways. This course used to be a joy to play and had decent eye appeal, but it’s now a bad muni-looking course. Despite the relative lower rate compared to other “championship” courses, I won’t be coming back unless changes are made. Regarding beverage service, all the “cart girls” were unfriendly and staring at their phones. In the first “drive by” instance, the cart girl drove right by us and didn’t even acknowledge us…I swear they are trying to make as little money as possible! If you enjoy great conditions, friendly people, and an acceptable pace of play - all of which you should expect this time of year in Scottsdale - play elsewhere.

Nice course, but...

way too expensive and the conditions go the fairways was marginal at best.

Golf in the Phoenix-area is way over-priced.

Bad condition

It looked like they spray painted the fairways. Greens were very dry and there was almost no fringe. Had to play all bump and runs because every time I tried to use my sand wedge from inside 40 yards, the club bounced and skulked the ball.

Over priced-not worth it

Been playing the ranch for many many years, conditions today: negligible amount of grass on fairways and in "rough" areas, greens were good, lots of goose droppings :-).

In my opinion this track is not worth $183 tax in on any day of the week in any season.

The main reason I have consistently played here was that it provided the best "value" in the neighbourhood.. For a few dollars more I'll hopefully chose clubs that are in better condition.

Nice course

A little pricey, but a nice well kept course. Group of drinking young men who thought they were better than they were held things up until the ranger finally got them moving.

Over Rated Underwhelming

I was very disappointed because I’d heard great things about the golf course. The front nine was decent, a bit rough around the edges but playing surfaces, tees, fairways and greens were fine. Nice arrangement of holes. The back nine was awful, terribly maintained and unplayable in many locations. Too much water in some spots, none in others, ragged fairways and no regard to proper bunker structure and maintenance. Just terrible from # 10 thru # 18. Even at the comparatively lower price to other facilities, I will not go back and would not recommend it to anyone else.

Lots of it on the front, and believe me i found most of it, ugh!. Played the palm course, greens were good, course was in good shape. Will go back, and will bear down on the front, either that or bring a ball retriever.....
