Palm at McCormick Ranch Golf Club
About
McCormick Ranch Golf Club features two lush manicured year-round courses amid the lovely views of Scottsdale. Both the Palm and Pine golf courses' championship tees lay to over 7,000 yards, and there are also the options of men's, seniors' and ladies' tee sets to allow everyone a crack at the tests offered by these golf courses.
Golf Illustrated selected the ninth hole of the Palm Course at the McCormick Ranch Golf Club to be "One of the USA's Top 18 Water Holes." It's just one of 10 water holes on the golf course, which, as you might imagine, also features lots of big palms. In all, the golf course plays to over yards from the blue tees, including four par-5 holes that measure over 500 yards.
A round of golf on the Palm Course at the McCormick Ranch Golf Club kicks off on the par-4 first hole, which plays close to 400 yards from the blue tee and requires a drive right-center to ensure a short-iron second shot.

Palm Course - McCormick Ranch Photo submitted by tainge on 03/29/2013
A Day at McCormick Ranch
The course was in good condition for the time year. Greens are a little "rough" and fast but overall it is in very playable condition.
McCormick Ranch Palm Course
I always enjoy playing McCormick Ranch. They have two courses here and they are both very enjoyable, while very different types of courses. The staff is always friendly. The course is usually in very nice condition. And it just makes for an enjoyable afternoon or morning on the golf course. I would highly recommend these courses to any avid golfer.
It’s a Keeper
First time playing this course. Will definitely play here again. A lot of water and sand on the front nine, less so on back nine. Great scenery! Course is well taken care of. I love courses that challenge me.
Decent public course but not worth $75
This is a flat basic course, which I don’t have any issue with. The course condition is sub par for the money. It’s and 35 to $40 track.
Makng progress
I have played this course on numerous occasions and it is in better shape than I can ever remember. The greens were nearly perfect condition, fast and true. . The traps are still a little suspect but again better than past experiences. My only complaint is that the tee boxes on the par 3's were no where near what the card stated. For example the 17th hole from the white tees is listed at something like 146 yards yet the tee box was a full 180 yards out.
Service Gap
It’s a massive tell when the backshop is more interested in you returning from your round to lightly rag your clubs with there hands out. Versus creating a great experience of for you from the moment you arrive. The young ones need someone to show them what high quality service excellence looks like so they have a point of reference.
Palm 2019
Solid value. Greens all in great shape and with consistent speeds. A little dry in spots but otherwise great shape. Overall
Some good some not
Overall a nice course and challenging enough for me. The one issue was the traps. You would think they didn't know how to rake a trap. They were hard as concrete and almost impossible to get a club under the ball. Finally told my playing partner to fluff his lie with the rake before trying to get out.
Don't waste your time or money!!!
Played this course today and was utterly disappointed. First off, They would not allow me to walk. Never been to a course that forces someone to ride! Secondly, they course was a glorified goat pasture! Being April, courses in this town should be in tip top shape! Mccormick Ranch was far from it! Lastly, there are so many ducks and geese on this course it has the fowl odor of goose crap! There was nothing peaceful or serene about this place so do yourself a favor and go elsewhere!
Course condition and staff
They have not done anything about the enormous amount of geese on the course - the course is covered with poop which is impossible to miss - it is very unhealthy as when you touch your ball at anytime it will have been in some droppings for sure. A few people we have golfed there with will not return. Although when we went it was slow the staff there was very slow getting your clubs and not friendly. We will not return
this is a great location and golf course layout.after playing this course for many years it is time to never return. the course refuses to get rid of the tons of goosepoop all over the place
I am sure if they dealt with the goose problem their rounds would improve a lot.a few friends of mine that used to golf their earned us not to go there. they were right.with all the infections etc this is also a health issue.too bad for McCormick.
Very nice Course
I actually played the Pine Course as they said it was open. Course was in very good condition. Had a great time.
Slow Day on the course
Round took five hours and not a Marshall in sight. Waited 10 minutes on most tee boxes. Greens were rock hard. Could not even hold well struck gap wedge.
Best shape in a few years.
Been playing McCormick Ranch for a few years. Best shape I have seen it. Greens rolled true, even with many pitch marks. Fairways were softer than previous years. Pace of play was perfect. Sure it is an older course, and maybe not as nice as some. But fair test!
Slow play and rough greens
Loved the layout and practice facilities. Greens need to be punched and sanded to get rid of ball marks. Pace of play was brutal!!

We are sorry to hear about the conditions you played in during your round here. Our bird-chasing dog is 14 years old and recently has been falling short of her duties. We are looking for other solutions to keep geese off of our courses. We sincerely hope you’ll give us another chance in the future.
