Palm at McCormick Ranch Golf Club
About
McCormick Ranch Golf Club features two lush manicured year-round courses amid the lovely views of Scottsdale. Both the Palm and Pine golf courses' championship tees lay to over 7,000 yards, and there are also the options of men's, seniors' and ladies' tee sets to allow everyone a crack at the tests offered by these golf courses.
Golf Illustrated selected the ninth hole of the Palm Course at the McCormick Ranch Golf Club to be "One of the USA's Top 18 Water Holes." It's just one of 10 water holes on the golf course, which, as you might imagine, also features lots of big palms. In all, the golf course plays to over yards from the blue tees, including four par-5 holes that measure over 500 yards.
A round of golf on the Palm Course at the McCormick Ranch Golf Club kicks off on the par-4 first hole, which plays close to 400 yards from the blue tee and requires a drive right-center to ensure a short-iron second shot.

Golfer Reviews
Overpriced
The course is just ok but the $169 green fee is WAY OVERPRICED for what you get in terms of what you get. Carts are old and outdated, there were MANY spots of dead grass or bare dirt, and many of the tee boxes were soupy wet. It would be worth a $70 fee, not $169.
Poor Conditions
Was disappointed by the shape of the course for the cost of the round. Both back 9’s were very wet but also had a number of burnt out spots on fairway and some tee boxes. Poor value in my opinion. We played four courses throughout the valley while on vacation and this was easily our least favourite due to the shape/condition of the course.
Not worth the money.
The course condition was absolutely awful. Greens were poor. The course was FULL of bare spots and soaking wet. I would so much rather play Papago or Talking Stick.
Or just drop $400 for Troon for that matter.
We’re sorry your experience did not reflect the level of quality we aim to provide. Your feedback has been shared with our team as we work to enhance course conditions and overall value for our guests.
Terrible course for the money
Fairways were in terrible shape as grass was patchy in most areas. The course, for being in the desert with no current rainfall, was soaked in water on the majority of holes. The greens are all painted green to give the appearance of grass. This is probably one of the worst courses to golf on for the money. Even if they offered it for free, it still would be overpriced.
We appreciate you sharing your experience. Providing conditions that match the value of our rates is important to us, and we will use your feedback as we continue making improvements across the course.
Such a complete rip off
I played here years ago and it was fine, this time first of all because of the WM tournament the price was outrageous and seriously I could have overlooked that if the course was in ok shape, it was terrible. It was heavily watered the night before mud everywhere, the greens were in bad shape and then to top it the starter was very rude. I was with my 16 year old son and we were to the tee box on time and he’s tone was like he was doing us a favor by him being there, it was disappointing and will never play there again. Coming back next year and will definitely play Silverado again, they were so friendly and gave my son a junior break on price.
Thank you for your feedback. We’re sorry the course conditions did not meet your expectations. We are reviewing your comments with our maintenance team and remain focused on improving the overall playing experience.
Good Layout
Property is going through a renovation at the moment. We played both backs,. Course has great bones. Good value compared to those in the area.
This was the first time playing this course. I was Very disappointed I didn't get to play the whole course I had to play the back 9 on both courses to make it 18. It certainly was kept up like I expected. There are plenty of course to play before I play this one again. Just go across the street to play Silverado to have a well kept course. Which I did the next day!!
Confusing
You play the back nines of both of their courses. Signs are few and far between. Course had a ton of water (no rain in weeks), lots of ruts and bumps just found it no a warm and fuzzy golf course. No one even told us about playing the back nines. I do r think I’ll be back for awhile!
Mediocre at best
They made us play the back nine of pine and back nine of Palm.. both not in very good shape.. very wet muddy.. bunkers hard as rock
Nice shape and good staffing
Likes the course, greens are a challenge. Staff very helpful and everything ran on time. Would play again.
Poor Conditions
Sand Traps are in horrible shape, most have no sand and the rest is dried dirt. Overall the fairways are in poor condition.
Fairways were not in good shape
The Fairways were not in good shape. It seemed there were a lot of areas which had been over watered, and there were puddles and muddy areas on most of the fairways. I understand that the first nine holes of the line and palm courses had been renovated. The back nine of both the courses, which we played, need work also.
Worth the price
Played back 9 of each course Hole 15 on the back pines is amazing Course had some ground under repair but for 80.00 good Scottsdale course
Thank you for your input. We understand the importance of delivering a quality experience at every price point and will be evaluating course conditions closely based on your comments.
