Orange Tree Golf & Conference Resort
About
The course at the Orange Tree Golf Resort provides an excellent game of golf in a luxurious setting. The Parkland-style layout features fairways lined with mature trees, which not only enhance the natural beauty of the golf course but can also greatly affect shots. Four lakes are situated on the flat terrain of the course, providing water hazards that come into play on five holes. Sand bunkers also surround every green. Orange Tree Golf Resort's course finishes with its signature hole, where water cuts into the fairway and proceeds to run down the left side all the way to the green. It also requires accuracy on the approach shot in order to hit the small putting surface that is surrounded by tricky elements.

Golfer Reviews
The Greens Need Work
2nd time I've played here, two and a half years apart, and the conditions of the greens have been terrible, both times. They told us before we teed off and said they had trouble with their over-seeding over the summer, but it was the same back in 2022, so it's a long trend. It's a shame because I think it'd be a great course if they could figure out how to take care of it. The prices aren't the highest in the area, but they should be less for a course in this condition. There was also a frost delay, which I can't blame them for, but since I booked a little less than 2 hours before my tee time, it should have been noted then that my booked time wouldn't actually be my tee time.
WORST COURSE IN AZ
Played there with a group from my hometown. Was the absolute worst course I have ever played. Conditions were horrible!!! Greens - gone, fairways-gone. They should close it down immediately. Yes, it’s that bad. You’ve been warned!!!!
The greens were in bad shape, however I understand Orange Tree is working to fix the problem.
Letting it run down
Great track
Great layout and excellent pro shop staff buttttt they are letting the place run down
Greens 30 to 50 percent dead
Tee boxes not tilled hard as a parking lot
Fairways in rough condition
Washrooms falling apart not maintained or very well cleaned
Very disappointed this trip!
Too bad because it is a nice track
Orangetree always fun but the greens are terrible this year
The greens are terrible. They’ve been shaved too tight and a burnt many of them have large dead patches. They seem to roll fast enough, but the brakes were way off.. Definitely need to up their game on the condition of the greens and tee boxes to bring this course back to its potential
Greens are awful
Foe $100 plus round this was very disappointing !! Peak season here in Az and greens are a mix of rolled soil and grass. Literally your putting on hard pan soil and the. Grass on the same line. a rain check should have been in order and a course alert!!
Horrible greens. Looks diseased. Should warn people.
I would not play there again unless they fix the greens. For the price I would rather play elsewhere.
Course was excellent, but the greens were in rough shape.
Bad golf experience
The course conditions were awful. The greens are egregiously unacceptable and unplayable. They should be ashamed of taking people’s money and not being fully transparent about the shape of their course at the time of booking. I didn’t think to read the recent Google reviews prior to booking as I’ve played there several times before and it was fine. But in hindsight, it’s clear that they have been struggling to maintain this course for some time based upon similar reviews.
My group played McCormick Ranch the day prior and for the same price it is top to bottom a better value, superior course conditions, and better overall golf experience than playing at Orange Tree.
I always had high regards for Orange Tree a local Scottsdale hidden gem, but unfortunately, my group won’t be back as there are simply better options.
Muddy and wet - Needs help
I've played this course a dozen times in the last few years and this is the worst shape I've seen it in. It's generally in decent condition and I'm generally pleased with the moderate price for a fun layout, a decent value for the area. Usually one of the cheaper options, But this go-round several of the greens didn't seem to have a lot of grass on them, More like putting on hard packed mud with a little seed sprinkled on it and some green paint.. Whole course was soaked and puddles everywhere, maybe the greens are being regrown or something I have no idea. Also No. 9 was closed becasue they flooded the fairway from the adjacent pond, so we only got 17 holes. someone in charge is asleep at the wheel here. Bummer, maybe I'll try again in the summertime.
Not worth the money
Played this morning and greens were extremely patchy and in-consistent. Some greens were hard and fast covered in mud spots or they were soft and slow or covered in sand. Course layout was okay, and fairways were alright. Some spots are pretty wet and muddy. I definitely do not recommend this course for this price. This course is very overpriced.
Avoid - NOT WORTH THE $$
Let me start by saying I live in the neighborhood and have played here dozens of times. Not anymore. AVOID. The greens are TERRIBLE. They all have a fungus. The fairways were all soaked and clearly haven’t been cut in days. We talked to the ranger about the greens, he admitted they overseeded early this year and after the 110° + temps, they overwatered causing the fungus. Can’t believe we paid $96 to play here. Actually, they discounted to $91 since we could not play Hole #9 due to the pond flooding.
Christmas Eve golf
