Pine at McCormick Ranch Golf Club
About
The Pine Course at the McCormick Ranch Golf Club offers mature pines, in an appropriate contrast to its sibling golf course, the Pine Course, and is also narrower than the other golf course. What they have in common include the facts that Desmond Muirhead designed both of them and they both date back to 1972; recent renovations have also given both golf courses new greens, sand traps and bridges.
The Pine at McCormick Ranch Golf Club measures 7,187 yards, kicking off on a 398-yard par 4 that requires tee shot toward the fairway's center, leaving golfers a mid- to short-iron from the green, which slopes narrowly. Things get long by the fourth hole, one of four par-5 holes that come in at over 500 yards; this one, for example, makes you place your drive well toward right-center if you want to shoot for it in two. Close out the round of golf on the 18th hole, another long one, at 517 yards from the blue tees, and a tight hole to drive that will, thankfully, provide your last test for the day.

Way over priced for the condition of the course!
I realize it is Scottsdale, but the course was way over priced. The condition of the course did not warrant the price of the green fees. The tee boxes were terrible and if you were off the fairway, your were hitting off dead pan. The greens were spotty. I cannot recommend this course to anyone! I really regret having to give this poor review because I've always enjoyed the course in the past. Sorry!
Another lousy experience and likely my last for the year. Last year I even had a season pass but the experience continues to be a sham at that price. I was paired with a family of 3 and the attendant placed my bag with the mother and from all the way at the driving range started shouting that my bag needs to be removed as we would be playing different tees. Then the husband came to the rescue and got another cart for me to ride solo which a different club attendant quickly opposed. At some point I even volunteered to walk the course. Not worth it at all!!!
Great staff. Great course
This course is well kept and I can’t say enough about the staff. From the clubhouse staff to the starter and the Players assistant. Everyone was super friendly.
It’s not target golf which makes it fun for all skill levels. But challenging enough from the longer tee boxes.
Would be great if there was a calculated “combo” for women.
Poor shape
This course was highly recommended Toni’s and I can’t figure out why. It’s in awful condition. Bare ground on almost every hole. Tee boxes are scruffy and hard. The lay out is fine, but not super interesting. It is definitely not a $150 course at the moment. Greens were in good shape, the staff was all friendly and the pace was good for how busy it was.
Amenities were average.
I won’t be recommending this place or likely playing here again.
Disappointed in course conditions
I first of all was disappointed in no frost delay. It was 36 degrees with frost on the fairways when the 1st group teed off. I would have assumed they would be concerned about damage to the course.
As I played I realized they apparently did not care about course conditions.
Fairways were ok, greens lacking grass on many thus no true role on putts and bunkers harder than the street next to the course.
I will never pay $150 to play this course again
Waste of money
This course is pathetic. Slow play. Overbooked. Mismanaged. Its like all they care about is how many rounds they can ram through per day.
Great club
Very nice layout especially the back 9 of the Pine course.
Very friendly staff front to back.
Coming back again
It looks like a run down muni
The course is not up to Arizona standards
The greens are pockmarked The bunkers are ok the tee boxes are not level and they don’t have much grass in them. The fairways are nice
Bad conditions and 5 hour round
Course conditions were bad. Especially for the price. And pace of play was slowest of any course in Scottsdale area. Play somewhere else
Waste of $
I Have played all over the US and the Valley. $150 to play 18 is a joke here. Greens were the only saving grace. Tee boxes trashed. Fairways had puddles everywhere. Rough was full of mud. I think my ball had mub on it every single hole. Nothing special about this place whatsoever. Very very disappointed. Will not be back. SAVE YOUR $. Go play legacy or Raven if you’re going to drop this kind of $.
