Typical summer conditions
Played on July 3. King course is finished with aeration & sanding of greens. Greens were fine with a pretty true roll. Fairways and tee boxes had various bare spots. It's usually the case with less watering and summer extreme heat. For $25 it was a fair tradeoff and reason for 4 star rating. The staff is great. A worker came around to provide golfers with water--a nice touch. It was a quick round starting early afternoon on a very hot day.

Starfire dissappointment
Arrived at pro shop to find out Front 9 on King closed. started on Par-3 course called Mulligan. tee boxes hardly any green grass, fairways no grass mostly mud and sparce grass here in there. greens rolled like 7 or 8 on stimp.
Thank you for playing Starfire and thank you for your feedback. June and July are the months we perform aerification on our greens. We have it posted online and our staff is trained to notify all callers of the course rotation. The summer heat definitely takes its toll on the turf in June and July. We thank you for your patience as we work to make Starfire even better!

Starfire status
Have played course several times previously. This is the worst shape I’ve experienced. Seems like the ultra hot weather has the upper hand this time. Will try it again, but not this summer.

Thank you for you patience as we work hard to get the summer bermuda established and a little extra help from the monsoons will help the bermuda too.

Fun golf course with plenty of water to avoid
Good course for the mid-cap golfer looking for low scores. You can get in trouble on any given hole, but the greens roll well and the grass is in good shape. Be ready to go cuz they like you to play swiftly...

Starfire Golf Club - A MUST PLAY
Beautiful Course.
The staff from Bag Drop to Check-In, ton Bar and Restaurant, Course Rangers, On-Course Refreshments, and Greens Crew are friendly, knowledgeable, and do their best to make your experience enjoyable and memorable.
It's summer in Arizona ... the fairways and green are being reconditioned for upcoming months. Course conditions are usually good to excellent.
The fees reflect an incredible hot weather deal, The Summer Pass! There's not a better deal out there. If you purchase one now, it's valid thru September 14, 2024

Not worth your money
Typically don’t write reviews unless I feel the need to. This course is below average at best. To charge $100 for a round of golf this time of year is absurd on every level. The putting green is one of the worst I have ever been on. The fairway ls are in rough condition for this price point. The greens were pretty inconsistent. I was hoping that it would be a decent track since I had never played it. I won’t come back.

Birthday Bash
Greens were not smooth and fairway's had lots of bare areas. They were overwatering so low spots were very wet. Liked the layout with all the beautiful homes.

Hot deal review
So I booked a tee time for 11:58 and it was a hot deal. I have a season pass at starfire and Golfnow failed to tell me that I had to pay the hot deal price and Starfire would not give me a refund for the discounted rate and said I needed to go through GolfNow if I wanted to see any chance at a refund. other than that a fun course to play.

That is a time that Starfire gives to GolfNow to sell for any price GolfNow wants. GolfNow collects the fees in advance and the golf course does not receive that money. We do apologize that we couldn't help you with a refund but GolfNow should be able to follow through on their end. They have a customer service number that can be found online. Please let me know if I can help you out in any other way.
