Starfire Golf Club - The King Course

For an older course in a residential community, this course is a gem. Really good layout and in very good condition. Very playable but wish the green fee was a little lower. Will definitely return.

Im new to the scottsdale area and have been trying to play a new track every week. I had my hopes for this one. It is not worth the money, id pay max 65 bucks for here. Its nothing special at all. There are way better courses for this price. The staff told me it goes up to 225 in march.

Positives: Great location: pretty much center of scottsdale. Pretty good conditions with exception of the tee boxes that hadn’t been moved from the day before. Fun layout. Under 4hr pace. Lunch after the round was great. Overall, had a great time.

Negatives: Rangers kept bothering us over pace; The group in front of us was slightly faster than us, but we were under a 4hr pace & the group behind us never waited on us. It was actually a nice pocket we found between a faster & slower group …& for some back story; I used to work at a very nice golf club & understand pace of play, but I think this whole “hurry up & wait” culture needs to end. Of course nobody wants to wait on every tee box, but let’s realize that we’re out there to have a good time. Rangers need to chill on trying to get every group to play in 3 hours. We’re not all trying to play cardio golf like Mark Wahlberg -> respect to him though! LOL crack open a drink & enjoy the time out there!

As a couple we had the course to ourselves which is hard to find. The course is decent for the price. We just played the front 9 holes and barely saw anyone. I'm a single digit cap but my girlfriend is just beginning so we took our time. From the tips it's decent and the closest tees were great for a beginner.

We have played this course several times over the years, we live 500 miles away. Great course, great staff. Greens a little slow, but course has always been in excellent shape.

My wife and I played Starfire for the second time (once in 2022)11/27/23 and were impressed. The course is beautiful and well cared for. All staff were outstanding in friendliness and helpfulness. The pace was efficient. Wish we could have benefitted from the discount card, but are in the area for only a few days.

We will definitely return to play again.

Beautiful day for golf with a buddy. Were teamed up with a very nice couple which made for an enjoyable afternoon.

This was my group's first time playing golf in the Phoenix and we thoroughly enjoyed playing Starfire. We were pleased that it played 90 degrees this time of year. Course was beautiful with great view of the mountains especially on a coupe of the par 3s.

Fairways & greens were in great condition. Only negative would be the sand traps which were hard compact sand and some had standing water.
