Legend Trail Golf Club
About
When the architect Rees Jones created the golf course at the Legend Trail Golf Club, he created a golf course that brings out the Old West-style air of Scottsdale and a fun and testing golf course with greens made of bent grass. It's a premium golf course smack dab in the Sonora Desert.
The golf course at the Legend Trail Golf Club features broad fairways, diminutive bunkering and tees placed on islands, and has been called one of the Top 100 golf courses by Golf Magazine. The magazine also gives Legend Trail 4.5 stars out of five among its
Best Places to Play, and has one of the Top 100 Woman-Friendly Fairways, according to Golf For Women magazine. Panoramas include local sites like Pinnacle Peak, and a round at Legend Trail Golf Club gives all levels of golfer several different shot-making options.
Golf a late-afternoon round on Friday or Saturday, and head back to the Trail's End Grill from 4 to 6 p.m. for specials on drinks and appetizers.

Awesome Day
We enjoyed the course. Very challenging at times. It’s in great shape. A little pricey even with the golf now deal.
Nice course, way overpriced!
We realize you can charge what you want especially during the pandemic year but one should not have to pay 200$ to play this course. The greens were fast but not exceptional. The fairways were tight and even had some spots that were weak at best. The tee boxes were chewed up and slovenly in spots. I always try to play this course when I visit but I'll think twice about it next time.
Fun Course
Played Legend Trail for the first time on 2/24. The course was in excellent condition. The layout was fun and compares favorably to other courses in the area. I’d definitely play here again.
Plays more difficult than it looks.
The terrain and hazards (mostly sand) make this course play much harder than it looks.
Rushed & Slow
Course layout is great with challenging shots from the tips.. however we were told 4 hour pace which led to a 5 hour round. The worse part was the ranger stalking us all round & trying to hurry up pace which is a failure when you have tee times every 12 mins & groups that are bound to get behind pace. I don’t like how we were rushed almost every shot: it will be our last time playing there.
Mixed Review
The course conditions were excellent. Greens were perfection. Fast and true. Big kudos for pace of play and Marshall managing the course. ,
This course is difficult for the average player, (I’m a 7 hndcp and play numerous times per week). If you don’t hit the ball straight you had better bring at least 1 box of balls. To further add the the difficulty and really my only gripe, the carts don’t have modern day GPS and players have absolutely no idea where to hit the ball. If you want to have any chance at scoring on this course, you MUST buy a yardage book (assuming it’s offered). As is the case with desert courses, blind tee shots and forced carries are made impossible without yardage details.
One of my top 10 in Scottsdale
Very scenic fun dessert course with many varying and interesting holes
One of my favorite AZ layouts
Greens in Tough Shape
Obviously no on fixes ball marks at this course and that is a shame. Greens look like a large hail storm came through, very sad !!!
Great course
Great short game practice area. Good greens. Overall really great place.
