Ironwood/Acacia at Kierland Golf Club
About
Kierland Golf Club offers three nines: Ironwood, Acacia, and Mesquite that are played in three different 18-hole combinations. The courses have a true desert feel with water only coming into play three times, on the final hole of each nine. The Ironwood/Acacia Course combines the most player-friendly of the nines with the club's signature nine. Ironwood offers a sampling of Acacia's signature mounding but its layout has a links feel that is more forgiving. The Acacia nine offers a fair challenge with a bevy of mounds and bunkers strategically placed along all of the fairways. The final par-5 hole is the golf course's signature. It is one of the area's most challenging finishes with water all along the left side of the fairway and mounding along the right as well as a green protected by five bunkers.

Golf in the Summer Heat
Kierland is a great course that a rookie golfer can navigate but from the back tees poses enough challenges for an experienced golfer to thoroughly enjoy themselves. The course was in great shape for Summer in Scottsdale. Staff was excellent and friendly. My buddy, who has played all over the world, had never played Kierland before and was totally impressed.
Excellent round
The golf course is in excellent condition. There was more than expected moisture on the fairway as we played early in the morning. Overall, it was fun and enjoyed.
native
Course was in great shape greens were soft and fast. Beverage cart great job saw here 4 times on each 9.
Played ironwood and acacia
Course was in excellent condition. Pace was awesome. Staff extremely friendly. Practice facilities were excellent as well. Would play this course anytime.
Great golf and terrific food
Overall, I was very pleased with the golf course and amenities. The staff was friendly and course conditions were very good. The greens were hard and fast, but they were consistent, which is critical. At least you can adjust to consistently fast. Views of Camelback Mountain in the background made for very scenic play. Check out the restaurant if you have time; the cheesesteak sliders were amazing!
Kiwi couple
I picked this course to play based on the high rating score on GolfNow. I can only assume that others rated it highly as they played it well. The layout is boring. Every par 4 looks the same and the course is quite easy so long as you hit fairly straight. We went there hoping to eat breakfast before playing but all they had available was a takeout breakfast sandwich pre-made and kept heated. Very disappointed in this course. We would highly recommend a slightly longer drive to play Lookout Mountain for half the price.
Great Course-Excellent conditions
Played Ironwood and Acacia courses early (first tee time) as a foursome played front in less than 2hrs-because of cross over with three 9 holes courses or maybe because they didn't expect us to make the turn so quickly a slower group was put out in front of us on the back. Still played the back in 2:20hr. Resort courses with likely a good dose of corporate play as the resort hosts many larger corporate meetings.
The courses were fantastic with unbelievable greens.
Can't wait to play again.
Nice Track
My son and I enjoyed a nice round early in the morning. It was spring break and this was a treat. There were no discounts to be found anew paid over $200 per person. We played Marriott Wildwood and Troon North earlier in the week for similar money. While the course and greens were in fine shape the course did not compare to the quality of either. This was a true "executive course". Hills served as backstops and helped ur ball to the middle fairway. No doubt I'd play it again.
Fairways like carpet
This course was in incredible shape. The fairways were like carpet and the greens had roll but no stick.
Play this course if visiting Scottsdale.
Slow and steady kills the pace...
Course conditions were ideal. I've played Kierland 100+ times and I've never seen the greens run this smooth, this fast and be this receptive!
The downside - 5+ hour round with a half-empty course due to back to back elderly twosomes with no marshal moving them along... This part was MISERABLE!! If I paid the posted $200 green fee (which is ludicrous anywhere in AZ...) I would never come back
Kierland Golf
Course was in excellent shape and fun to play. We had early tee time 7:39 am so not much waiting at all.
Not worth the money
Course layout is only average, a lot of holes run back and forth next to each other and next to a fence along the streets. Not very scenic as expected.
Courses in this price range usually have staff that's overly helpful, not the case hear. Cart GPS system not very good. Not even a couple complemtary bottles of water!
Best pace of play
Great course conditions. Staff paired us up with another twosome as requested. Pace of play was best we have had in the time we have been here
Pricey!!!
Nice coarse...pace of play a little slow. For the money I was expecting it to be a little nicer
Staff
Great staff most friendly and accommodating in the valley
Great shape !!
Awesome & fun course !! Very smooth greens
Nice, though unmemorable
Good parking lot to tee service. Highly manicured, it is much like the courses over at Talking Stick- flat, not difficult, a little too much sameness on each hole, not much to remember, seemingly built on inexpensive, leftover real estate. Easy course for tee shots- fairways mostly wide and forgiving. Many traps, sand is top quality. Do like how they keep the vegetation trimmed back so easy to find an errant ball. Greens were well designed and fair, though a bit hard (vs soft). The range is closed to the public unless you're playing a round- grass tees but grass cut too short on them. Practice bunker(s) closed. On course beverage service frequent and well priced, except for the $7 hot dogs and no fresh condiments. Directly under the airport traffic patterns for nearby Scottsdale airport- lots of helicopter and low altitude propeller and business jet noise. In all, a nice choice for under $90, otherwise, not worth anything close to what they charge for "rack rate" in or near high season.
Nice resort style course
Normally I wont play at Kierland because of the cost, but got a really good deal on Golf Now. Couse was in good shape overall and was a challenge for me from the copper tees as I am not a big hitter. Fairways are generous and the greens were in good shape and rolled well. Greens are heavily guarded with sand traps. Highlight of the round was standing over a birdie putt while a bagpiper was playing at sunset.
very nice course all around
I stayed at the hotel and decided to play one more time before go home (played 2 days prior on other courses). Stuff is great, greens are great, played in 3h 15 min, even "cart path only".(1st ttime of the day)
I would come back if only AZ would not get so many great courses that we can play for the 1st time and enjoy it! ( and believe me-we are spoiled and picky with golf courses in CO)
Fun round
Excellent course. Wide open and less mentally taxing.

Kierland is an easy resort course and most that review it are from out of town. For excellent (public) golf play We Ko Pa, Troon North or a little further out is Quintero. All scenic and difficult.
