Editor's Note: Course closed in 2018. See The Phoenician Golf Club listing.

The Desert/Oasis Course was the Phoenician's first 18 holes, which were later joined by the Canyon nine. The aptly named course may have desert surroundings but its numerous palm trees and blooming flowers will make golfers feel as though they've been transported to a tropical destination. Although all three golf courses cover only 150 acres, none of them feel cramped. Any lack of length is quickly forgotten after playing the creative challenges of the layout. The golf course offers plenty of variety that make it appealing to low and high handicappers alike. Dramatic elevation changes characterize the Desert nine, providing the breathtaking views that have led it to be the most requested course. The Oasis nine is memorable as well with water coming into play on six holes and a unique moat of sand on the par-4 finishing hole.

Fun round. Liked how different the front & back were. Great views. All the ongoing construction around the course did take away from the overall experience. Would play again.

Great day

I have to say that this course is in beautiful condition with tons of great views. Despite some construction of new buildings on a couple holes.

Had a bad day driving and paid the price with some lost balls and strokes. If you keep it in fairway it's a reasonable course.

Love the resort for years and finally played here and really enjoyed it all.

Very nice

Beautiful course. Keep your driver in fairway or it gets dicey. Greens a little slowish. Had group with two walkers in front of us. Which slowed us down multiple times. Not sure why that's allowed with some of the huge gaps between green to tees.

Phoenician round up!

Course was nice! I’m just not a fan of playing fairways sandwiched by houses. But Conditions were amazing everything green nice bunkers. The Vack nine opened up with no housing but looks like it coming as construction is on its way. Definitely play your ball towards the mountains on the back everything slopes down. Beautiful views! But just me. Not a fan having to drive a 1/4 mile to the next tee.

Course is great if you can get on for $150 or less. Way too slow of play to be charged in the upper $200's.

Pace of Play TERRIBLE

the course was great - but total lack of staff and professionalism. The pace of play was the worst I have ever seen at this level of golf course.

Immaculate Shape - Quirky Layout

First time to play the Phoenician golf course. Back tees listed at a little over 6500 yards, but seemed like it played longer. Fairways, greens and bunkers all in great shape. The superintendent must have been in a bad mood because most of the pin placements were on hills/knobs on the greens. In several instances we had to wait for the group in front of us to clear the tee before we could drive up because the cart path cut back in front of the tees. Awkward. And pack a lunch for the drive from the 9th green to the 10th tee. Overall, a fun day.

Unique Desert/Mountain Experience

First time playing and it won’t be my last ! Staff was extremely Friendly and helpful with all of our questions and needs. The course itself offers a plethora of challenges and opportunities. Great layout with different styles of holes that allow risk/reward golf. Views from the back nine increase as the course tightens and adds extra challenges.

Only drawback for me was that the majority of fairways and greens are lined by homes and that can play with the mental game and take away from the experience. This is amplified on the 18th hole and takes away from one of the most fun holes on the course.

Price point is high but the course conditions were excellent so felt that there was good value for the money

Spectacular!

One of the nicest courses I've played to date! The back nine is certainly more challenging than the front but the scenery on the back nine is unbelievable. Enjoyed the round thoroughly.
