Editor's Note: Course closed in 2018. See The Phoenician Golf Club listing.

The Desert/Oasis Course was the Phoenician's first 18 holes, which were later joined by the Canyon nine. The aptly named course may have desert surroundings but its numerous palm trees and blooming flowers will make golfers feel as though they've been transported to a tropical destination. Although all three golf courses cover only 150 acres, none of them feel cramped. Any lack of length is quickly forgotten after playing the creative challenges of the layout. The golf course offers plenty of variety that make it appealing to low and high handicappers alike. Dramatic elevation changes characterize the Desert nine, providing the breathtaking views that have led it to be the most requested course. The Oasis nine is memorable as well with water coming into play on six holes and a unique moat of sand on the par-4 finishing hole.

Great conditions, bunkers need work

Great layout and the course was in great shape. The bunkers were nearly unplayable,- hard pan and almost no sand. Cart path only - wish they would have told us. Very freindly and helpful staff.

Nice Redesign

First time back to the Phoenician since the redesign (they consolidated 3 nine hole tracks into one 18). New layout much improved, back nine is very memorable close to Camelback Mt. Fairways and greens both in good condition even right before winter over-seeding.

There are a few very long distances from green to the next tee, but not really a problem in a cart. Only downside was the massive construction of homes on the grounds; this is obviously temporary.

Bring you own booze

Seriously. The prices for drinks out here are insane. $90 for 2 bloodys, a double jemison and 2 beers. I'm fine paying for my drinking at a golf course, but, this is nuts

Beautiful Course

Great course and layout. $65 rate as a hot deal of Golf Now made it very attractive. Played as a single and did catch up to a twosome at one point, but just allowed me to work on game a little. Saw bev cart 4 times and a Marshall did stop by and said they moved along a group that was dragging

first time

was excited to see a $40 round come up on the day, greens were slow, $10 beers was a bit much considering it was so hot and i am always thirsty... great city views from i think the 14th up against the hillside. north of $120usd in peak time, not too sure.

Solid for the time of year but slow on a saturday

The course was in nice shape for August. Greens rolled well, but the pace was very slow. Hr bermuda there really grabs your club. Stock up on water as there is not much on the course. I thought the back 9 was very cool.

Great play

Played at 1030 on a Thursday for $45. A steal as prices usually around $120. Towels in carts, awesome gps system with live TV and football scores. The views are amazing on the back 9. Pretty short track but greens are pretty difficult. A lot of slope, never a flat putt! Had coolers of waters every 6 holes or so. Cart girl made about 5 rounds. Played 4 hour round with a foursome. Doesn’t move very fast, that’s my only complaint. If you’re a single you’ll be paired with someone. You won’t be getting this course done in 2 hours as a single. Course was amazing for time of year. Construction going on a lot of places but it never affects your play. You’ll just be worrying about knocking a worker out on some holes
