Talking Stick Golf Club - O'odham Course

Slowest round of summer golf I have ever played in Arizona since I have lived here (1989). No ranger. Stacked 3 deep on tee boxes from hole 12 in. Greens are all cut at different lengths, very grainy. Not impressed. When I told personnel, they shruged it off and said "sorry". It took us 4 hours and 42 minutes. I only paid $20, but will not be going back. Disappointed.

Talking stick has a $20 deal on right now, which is great! The course is great and staff are friendly. The only issues was that we only saw the drinks person once and the carts don’t have GPS even though the booking says they do. Otherwise, solid course!

Golf course itself is great although greens were a bit slow. The pace of play is horrible. It was not busy particularly just slow groups. Not sure why but there were no marshals on the course to keep things moving. There are no water hazards but plenty of sand.

1st timer. Excellent experience. Coming back for sure!! Course to me was in great shape. Coming back for sure.

Always a great course to play. Especially at summer rates.

Played with : a scratch, 2 Handi & 3 Handi. I';m a 18, should not have tried to keep up!! They we great guys even with me thrashing along.

Great condition, pretty wide fairways, with lots of bunkers along the sides. No water to speak of, plenty of desert surrounding. Greens were in good shape, recently sanded, but still true, and challenging. Got a great deal at $21 at 10am. Got to about 107°, but still great. Lots of water on the course, so you can stay hydrated. Restaurant offers great service and good food. Staff was excellent. I'm going back ASAP!

I was excited to play the course today and in spite of 106 degrees, the price was right. Upon arriving an hour before my tee time, I was informed that the times were being delayed by 30 minutes to allow the juniors more time...ok, no problem..I am on vacation. Finally, l got off number one and after finally finishing that hole in 25 minutes, the waited for three groups to tee off on number two, I decided that a 7 hour course was not in the offing for me....

In the management, they did find a way to refund the green fee, but the frustration was then trying to find another course with an available time near by.

Good wide fairways, large greens. Bunkers with sand. Challenging undulations on greens. Course in very good condition.

Love these courses, staff, maintenance, bar, etc.

But they undeniably have a pace of play problem.

Yesterday was just the latest example.

Teed off about 2:40, 14 min late

Reached the 4th tee at 3:40

1 hour, 3 holes.

That’s a 6 hour pace.

I quit after 6 holes at 4:30

6 holes in 1 hour 50 min

We were literally hitting a shot every 10 minutes not counting putts

Never saw a marshall. Or beverage cart.

I’d like to think they know they’ve got a problem but if so, they clearly don’t care enough to actually DO anything. This has been going on for a while now

The Talking Stick complex is one of my favorite golf facilities. My brother in law and I played the North and the course was in great shape. Best of all, the rate on GolfNow was $45, which is unbelievable for a course of the caliber of both courses. And the staff are very friendly and efficient.

Have played Talking Stick dozens of times over the past five years and have never failed to have a great round. It gets pretty slow in the winter, but now that the snowbirds are gone, it’s back to a good track. A special shout out to the drink cart lady - she saw us five or six times over the round and since it was a hundred degrees today, she was a welcome sight. Two excellent courses and great service!

Sorry to say the course conditions are a. 6/10 particularly fairway and cart paths. Electric carts are in mediocre shape making strange noise and a bit of lurching.. no big hurry back for me.

Municipal course conditions with municipal course pace of play. Brutal 5 hr round on Friday afternoon.

Played the Gold tees... a bit longer yardage than we usually do.

Relatively cool day at the end of April so it was a wonderful day for golf. Course conditions were excellent. We played the North course. Greens were a little hard; and therefore difficult to hold.
