Talking Stick Golf Club - Piipaash Course

Great shape compared to many courses in the valley this time of year. One of my favorites year around

Hard to think this is ranked one of the best courses around. Uninspired layout that winds through parking lots and roads. Course at the time (Aug) in rough shape with somehow mud pits all over? Hopefully caught it at a tough time. If I had a choice I’d play either WeKoPa 99 times out of a hundred over this for the same price point.

Always a Fun Round at Talking Stick - Piipaash Course!!! One of my favorite in the Valley!!!

My son and I played Piipash on 7.19. We are fans of the Coore - Crenshaw design team. They do a great job with the land and use the bunkers and a few waste areas to add character and decision making to each hole. Trusting your yardage is key at both courses due to the deceptive bunkering throughout.

The carts are equipped with GPS that provides yardage, to layup and carry yardages that allow you to plot your way around the course. The carts are top tier - however they don’t have bluetooth music. It was warm on our day of play and water was provided throughout the round. It was a Saturday and the course was packed - however we didn’t wait often but also did not stress ourselves with pace.

Love the course design and location. The greens were recently aerated so we caught it just as the AZ courses are going through this phase. I called to inquire about the other 18 hole course and they were extremely helpful in providing course conditions and it ultimately allowed us to select the course whose greens were in the best shape.

Would definitely recommend to a friend!

First time playing the course. It’s very forgiving and was in great shape during the summer. However if I’m paying for 18 holes at 4:30pm. I would like to be able to attempt to finish and not have a cart cut off at 7pm when there is still an hour of daylight left in summertime.

I assumed I could play 18 at a 3:30 start since dark is not until 7:50, but they have an unannounced 7pm curfew, 4:30 pace of play, and did not advertise poor greens from aerification.

In excellent shape. Staff (starter) super friendly and helpful (ie we were a twosome and he got the group in front of us to let us play through). Free water ice and towels. Very flat course, fairways are generous, not hard to find ball if go in desert.

I’ll never ever forget my round in the Talking Stick South Course on July 11th as I scored my first ever hole in 1 in hole #9, a 164 yards Par 3!

What else can I say about this GC? It was in excellent condition and the staff and Rangers were so friendly. Overall an unforgettable round.

The staff from the time you drop your bags until they load you up when the round is over was nothing less than exceptional. During the round the guy (sorry I didn’t catch his name) routinely stopped by to make sure we always had water and ice. Visiting from Texas, we have heat, but yeah, this is different. Definitely would 100% recommend and will golf here again!

No real complaints but nothing special either. Staff was friendly carts were great course layout and conditions above average. Just nothing worth the price.
