Talking Stick Golf Club - Piipaash Course

It was an embarrassing day. I had a guest from Seattle in for 4 fans of golf and Talking Stick was 1 day of the 4.

The driving range was basically a dirt range without any grass. It was a hint of what was yet to come.

We were behind a corporate event, I guess doing a scramble. We caught this group on #11. From there, the day was ruined for our 4 some and everyone behind us, all trying to finish before dark.

This group, many dressed in jeans and tee shirts, showed no signs of experience or knowledge of basic golf skills.. walking through bunkers without raking, even club selection was a foreign thought. Over 20 minutes on a par 3. The groups in front of them were the same, so golf for my group and all behind me basically ground to a haul.

My complaint to a member of the staff was given a shrug and a it is what it is reaction.

Where are the Marshalls???????? We paid full price, and deserved a 4 hour 20 minute round of golf. The back nine was over 3 hours.

I was embarrassed to take my guest to your course.

This course looks like and plays like a standard muni. Goose crap everywhere and average grass condition. Nothing special for paying that kind of money. Definitely better places for the price.

The round was five hours…no ranger out keeping the large party of folks ahead moving along.

For the price and the bode of play I wouldn’t recommend

Our last round before returning home and we enjoyed it tremendously. Great pace, conditions and weather. Only thing was the 19th closing at 6 so we couldn’t toast on how much we enjoyed the round! Highly recommend the course.

We payed $230 and the guys golfing with us bought the Talking Stick Golf Card for $69 and two plAyers can use it and they payed $99 on a Friday. Course was ok, played in 4 hours.

We had a tee time on 2/5/21 at 846am. We had travel issues with a couple players and called Talking Stick at 804am. We were transferred to the head pro/assistant pro as the Staff worker didn’t have authority so we were transferred to explain the situation. The agreed to waive the “No Show Fee” and grant an exception, very gracious at the time. HOWEVER, at 4pm, GolfNow emailed a notice saying the course had authorized the Fee $772 for 3 players! This was extremely disappointing on both GolfNow and the course as the director of golf was not communicated our prior conversation that morning and the exception they had agreed to earlier that morning! I have emailed the Director of Golf at Talking Stick AND GolfNow. Neither have replied and the charge is on my account. My next step if this is not corrected by next week will be to report both GolfNow and Talking Stick to the BBB and dispute the GolfNow charges on my credit card. While we appreciated the intent of Talking Stick to accommodate based on the AM conversation Shame on you both for the poor communication and not following thru. I also spoke to Austin later that day in the Golf Shop after this all transpired to get direct email of the director of Golf who has still not responded to my email to correct the situation. See the screenshots below. Still no return email OR phone call from Golf Now or Talking Stick and likely have to file a dispute with my credit card or take this to the BBB. Ugh

Sorry guys but this course is not worth the ticket price.

Bland golf course, when there are so many other choices, the price for this course is wrong

Fairways and bunkers well kept

Greens rolled true and were in great shape

At 11 we counted 4 groups on the box. A marshal would me nice. I never mind them saying - catch up or move up .

200$ per person in perfect weather perfect course is very worth it .

But i wouldn’t play for free when the management on the course can’t help out .

- and I know I’m old because we still finished in 4 hours.

Just a fluke ..

It was my second time in Scottsdale, and first time playing this course. My wife and I really enjoyed it. Challenging but fair. The course slowed down on a few holes, but overall pace of play was good. We got a “hot deal” so the value was definitely there. We’ll be back!

Unable to play 18 holes that were paid for. Waiting 5 to 10 minutes between shots is unacceptable.

Only finished 12 hole before it started getting dark. 2:26pm tee time for 4
