Hillcrest Golf Club at Sun City West

The pace of play was fantastic. Did not see a ranger but all groups I saw were keeping up with the group in front of them. Only issues we had were the sand traps and we played them as ground under repair. They are working on the back 9 at this time. The other issue we encountered was the 1st cut around the green and the grass on the tee boxes. Both areas are a little long which makes it feel sticky. But all in all we’re we’re extremely please with the course.

The staff we encountered was very friendly and mad us feel welcome.

The course apparently has been around for a long time. The clubhouse guy gave us a short history and a player on the practice green did as well. We played with an older gentleman and had a really good time. The rough was pretty dead in spots but the fairways were good and the greens were ok. The course marshall also moved people along nicely. Its kind of sad that this needs to happen but it seems courses without someone on them really can have major time issues and the marshall was a nice guy but he definitely made his point to some folks. This course is kind of a nice hidden gem I think and we will play it again I'm sure!

Myself and my wife have only been golfing for shy of two years now. We have played about 10 different courses in this area and majority of them are straight fairways and slight dog legs left or right. Hillcrest has given us something that makes this hobby come to life. This course forces you to make sure you lay up properly, and if you don’t, it will leave you in a bad position. This is great for me and the wife. We really enjoy the course. Only thing I can say is a bit different is the cart paths… they don’t really exist. Great course, and we both want to make it our home course!

It seems that the course has been let go a little since previous years. Very bumpy and rutty prior to and around that Fairways. Greens a tad bumpy. Broken wall washers

The fairways were in good shape. The greens were very hard packed and rolled fast. The problem was that the geese, ducks and coots poop all over the greens and any place near the water. The 11th hole which is a par 3 near the water is just covered in poop. One of the tee boxes on the back 9 was so bad you couldn't find a place to stand to tee off. I'm sorry, but I'm going to have to call "foul" on this one.

We had a really good time playing this course. The only concern I have was the sand traps, they are in really bad shape other than that the course layout was fun. Pace of play was acceptable. Fairways and greens were very consistent. Going to be playing this course on 1/20.

The course is in nice shape. Fairways are very good and the greens are good too. The tee boxes need some work but overall not too bad.

Course layout is very nice and for the money we paid, a very good value. Course could us some TLC though,

Condition of the course is just average but other aspects are very good to excellant. Pace of play last time I played was under 3 hours 30 minutes, ascetics of the course layout is excellant and the value was great.

Day after rains. Muddy everywhere. Greens were ok.

I find the layout reasonably challenging and that keeps me coming back. The conditions of the fairways and greens are just passable. Anything off the fairway is hardpan at best.

Fun course with some unique holes. Several wide open fairways that are forgiving, some danger holes with water… good balance.

Normally the pace is good, but my last visit was extremely slow.

The course was in ok shape, the pace of play was terribly slow, the cart cleaner staff person was very grumpy and rude, I’d find it hard to recommend this course right now unless the rates were very low.
