About
Editor's Note: Course closed for business in 2018.
Cahoon Plantation in Chesapeake originally opened with a 27-hole layout but it has seen a major transformation since opening. One of the nines was eliminated and the flat terrain was molded into a gently rolling championship layout. The golf course has mostly parkland holes but there are some that have a links-feel, guaranteeing that there's enough variety to please any golfer. The layout is mostly wide open with very few trees to obscure the views. Water comes into play frequently throughout the golf course and there are a few strategically placed bunkers as well. The 15th hole is Cahoon Plantation's best par 3. The green is well protected by bunkers and a small pond but there is still an opportunity for a birdie, which will probably be your last chance for one before you face the difficult closing stretch of holes.

great course
The course makes me not want to play any place else
Great course! Lots of fun!
The course was in great shape. The challenging part of this course is the rough. Especially around the greens. It tests your skill in chipping and putting.
Nice course!
Has a little bit of everything: water, lengthy holes mixed in, and well placed traps. Fun to play and the course is in great shape!
SUPERB FAIRWAYS
Fairways a little tight on several holes, and if you stray, the rough can be brutal. Greens are large and undulating, so knowing the pin placement is critical to scoring. First time playing here, navigating from one hole to the next can be confusing. Very fair tee placement for the ladies(my wife loves this course),and I must say these were the nicest fairways I have played on this year, nicer than many higher- priced courses in the area. Overall, a fun layout.
This course has great features
We only got to play 7 holes due to storm. A little disappointed since we didn't get a rain check. Then it would have been worth the money. I know it is take your chance with the weather.
Has always been a nice course but overdeveloping of the neighborhood is now evident.
The clubhouse staff was very helpful, friendly and competent.. It's a challenging and fair course with just the right speed and breaks on the greens to keep a golfers attention.. The grounds staff seems to have their act together because the course is in decent condition considering it's all bent grass fairways and tee's which takes a lot of effort to keep up with the wear and tear when you get as much play as this course see's. The few down sides to the course is that modern society is quickly changing the glorious game of golf into a mere recreation activity ((( It would be NICE to see more golfers thoughtfully helping the grounds staff out by trying to fix two ball marks per green and learning to fill in their divots 3/4 full with the sand that is conveniently supplied in containers on the carts (It's like the modern recreational "time conscious" speedy golfer's think those containers are beer coolers or big covered ash trays rather than there to help the divot's recover quicker and taking 10 seconds per green to fix a couple ball marks should not be considered a sin that will make you late for the family dinner or something ) .... other than that, the home and road developer's are getting way too close for comfort and public safety which has become a typical blunder in the modern golf course communities ..
This course is in excellent conditions. Very challenging and you must definitely play the course.
I enjoyed playing this course. It is definitely one of the better maintain course within the Chesapeake area. Would highly recommend this course to all of my golfing buddies/friends.
challenging course
nice, tough course, very good conditions, well worth playing again
great course, friendly knowledgable staff, excellent greens and overall maintenance
Just go ahead and book now, I played this course for $16 and I couldn't have been happier, best value I've found yet. Centrally located with a great staff, guy gave me a bucket of balls on the house for that having been my first trip to Cahoon Plantation. The pro shop isn't huge but they have great deals on apparel and the club house facilities are beautiful. Try them out you won't be disappointed.
Ps the 18th hole is a wonderful finish.
This course is well maintained and has all paved cart paths.
Nice course is well maintained. All cart paths are paved. Low, rolling hills make for a nice looking course. Rough is pretty rough and you can loose a ball easily. My partner and I did not have to tee off with another couple - we were able to take our time. Marshall was friendly and not intimidating.
Nice track
Course is in over all good condition. Greens roll good, even though they have been faster in the past. Used to have the nicest tee boxes in the area, but that is not the case anymore. Enjoyed playing Cahoon Plantation again.
Great course!
Friendly staff! Gas Powered carts! Full Bar! Beer Girl! Great layout and well kept fairways!!
Nice course for strategic golf
Need to be strategic. Would love to play again. Greens were okay, speedy for the condition they were in. would love to play when greens are really in great shape.
Very well kept
Very nice course. Young guy at front desk was less then friendly but have have delt with others there that were total opposit and very friendly. Maybe he was just having a bad day, we all have them. Other then that, it was a very enjoyable time.
Great Course for a great price
This course is well maintained and you can't beat the GolfNow price!! i would recommend everyone play it once!
Great condition, lots of variety
This course is very well-maintained. Staff is friendly, rates are reasonable. Pace of play was not bad for a Saturday.
Nicest course in Chesapeake
Cahoon Plantation is a fun and enjoyable course to play. They have a nice clubhouse, new carts, and a great driving range. They keep the course in good shape, I have never been disappointed in the quality of the course.
Green all year long!
Cont on a good round of golf no matter what the weather.
Great Courses, I plan to play every course availible.
