Not the best.
The clubhouse staff was friendly, driving range & putting area was nice. But, the greens were in bad shape. They looked like they hadn’t been rolled in weeks. The pace of play was brutal. Our round took 5.5 hours due to the pace of play in front of us. I was excited to play this course after hearing how nice it is... but there are a lot nicer courses in San Jose.
Spectacular!!
Amazing course...played 18...Merlot and then Chardonnay. I walked it, as I prefer to walk for the exercise and it was awesome. For anyone that only likes to walk flat courses, take a cart. Conditions were amazing got the winter. No soggy spots at all. Fairways were superb and greens were great as well with perfect speed. BBIBA.....Best Bunkers In Bay Area....the sand quality was awesome and every bunker was perfectly raked in the morning. No lazy groundskeepers here. These folks are the absolute best. Also, for a hilly course, the rough was manageable and I only lost one ball all day, and that’s because I didn’t want to spend time looking for it. Was lucky enough to be out early and finished in 3:15. I play twice a week at least and this course had the beat conditions of any course I’ve played in the last 9 months. Even better than summer conditions. Even though it’s a little more than double Las Positas, it plays like a $150 course for less than $100 on weekday mornings. Again, best conditions of any course around. Will definitely be back.
Terrible staff and BS rules
We played a 9 hole and they would not give us carts because you have to “be playing 18 holes to get a cart”. We got back from playing and there were AT LEAST 20 carts waiting to go out. Complete garbage of a rule and the staff were incredibly rude about it. This place is a dump.
Wow
Couldn’t have gotten a better day; course was in incredible shape. Fairways and greens are ROLLING.
Poppy Ridge always a fantastic round
Poppy Ridge has two personalities: windy, or not. When windy, this course can become extremely challenging, especially the many holes atop ridges. Without wind, it's still beautiful but not as challenging. Pace of play is good, even on an busy Sunday. Staff have always been great to me. Course conditions, even in December, are fantastic -- greens rolling very fast today. I only wish it was closer to home for me.
pace of play very slow for a weekday
but we enjoyed the course none the less just weird having to wait at every hole to play on a weekday
Poppy Ridge play
pace of play was fine during first nine holes. Second nine (Merlot) was slow due to walking players and course elevations on Merlot nine.
