Chesapeake Golf Club sits tucked away in the idyllic village of Las Gaviotas, conveniently situated just 15 minutes from downtown Norfolk. Boasting some of the best greens in the Tidewater area, the club offers the amenities of a private club with the fees of a public golf course. The layout will challenge you with rolling fairways and tricky doglegs. Water hazards come into play frequently so be prepared for a few intimidating blind shots over water. Mature trees line the rolling fairways and there are also strategically placed bunkers lurking along the greensides. The manageable 6,278-yard length is approachable for beginners yet there are still holes that long hitters will enjoy. Chesapeake Golf Club is a course that will test your skills but it's not overly punishing for the high handicapper.

Great Conditions
Course was in great shape. It's refreshing to see a course repainting markers, getting sandtraps ready, etc. Amazing how many nice days on some courses you see no workers and the course in need of repairs.
Meh but liked the course layout signs!
GEESE fighting course... Geese feces & Geese throughout the ENTIRE course, range not manicured most greens not cleaned up either, cart path Horrible, porta-potty's for bathrooms that REEKED, YUCK! Don't go after a day of rain - water logged completely! 1st & LAST visit here especially the amount of grease feces - KEEP hand sanitizer! Definitely only a 1.5 star at Best!!

Money worth and chalenging feeling
First time came here. Nice course. Very well maintained greens.
The layout is somehow challenging.
Fantastic weather. I had a wonderful afternoon here.
The staff is friendly. At the beginning I was asked to join threesome group. But I was called to start my shot alone in the end.

Had not played there in some time. Water really comes into play if you're not a long hitter. It made things pretty challenging for me.
Enjoyed the course. For early March, it was in great shape

Funky Course
Funky Course with lots of water to shoot over...holes 2, 4, 6, 7, 10 & 15... Houses close to fairway. Had a 70 degree day in Feb so played. Muddy & cart path only. Greens were in decent shape. Still had fun.

if you're playing 9 you are actually playing 11. It's a little confusing.
Not confusing, you just get two extra holes to play before returning to the clubhouse. You're only paying for 9. I call it a win.
Good course for the value
Early morning tee time is optimal. We were a two-some and we're allowed to play thru. Finished course in 3.0 hours. Lots of water!

Great course for the cost
Fun course, very interesting layout. Good condition course, it had just rained and even when it was wet it was still fun to play. greens vary from huge to tiny and is quite challenging. I will definitely be returning to play.

The course is OK. Decent greens. Good value for the money. I'd play it again, but it wouldn't be my first choice. I'll leave it at that.
