Chesapeake Golf Club sits tucked away in the idyllic village of Las Gaviotas, conveniently situated just 15 minutes from downtown Norfolk. Boasting some of the best greens in the Tidewater area, the club offers the amenities of a private club with the fees of a public golf course. The layout will challenge you with rolling fairways and tricky doglegs. Water hazards come into play frequently so be prepared for a few intimidating blind shots over water. Mature trees line the rolling fairways and there are also strategically placed bunkers lurking along the greensides. The manageable 6,278-yard length is approachable for beginners yet there are still holes that long hitters will enjoy. Chesapeake Golf Club is a course that will test your skills but it's not overly punishing for the high handicapper.

Greens rolled good just a little wet but 90° still greens held good

Had not played there in some time. Water really comes into play if you're not a long hitter. It made things pretty challenging for me.
Enjoyed the course. For early March, it was in great shape

Funky Course
Funky Course with lots of water to shoot over...holes 2, 4, 6, 7, 10 & 15... Houses close to fairway. Had a 70 degree day in Feb so played. Muddy & cart path only. Greens were in decent shape. Still had fun.

if you're playing 9 you are actually playing 11. It's a little confusing.
Not confusing, you just get two extra holes to play before returning to the clubhouse. You're only paying for 9. I call it a win.
Good course for the value
Early morning tee time is optimal. We were a two-some and we're allowed to play thru. Finished course in 3.0 hours. Lots of water!

Great course for the cost
Fun course, very interesting layout. Good condition course, it had just rained and even when it was wet it was still fun to play. greens vary from huge to tiny and is quite challenging. I will definitely be returning to play.

The course is OK. Decent greens. Good value for the money. I'd play it again, but it wouldn't be my first choice. I'll leave it at that.

Although it has an unusual layout, the course was in really good shape, particularly the greens. I'd play it again!
Played this course many times . Has some holes that most golfers don’t like . Course was in good shape . Greens were good just rolled a little to slow to my llikeing . Never saw a Marshall all day.. No beverage kart ..looks to me they are cutting back on staff. Pro was taking greens fees and pulling karts.
