About
Chesapeake Golf Club sits tucked away in the idyllic village of Las Gaviotas, conveniently situated just 15 minutes from downtown Norfolk. Boasting some of the best greens in the Tidewater area, the club offers the amenities of a private club with the fees of a public golf course. The layout will challenge you with rolling fairways and tricky doglegs. Water hazards come into play frequently so be prepared for a few intimidating blind shots over water. Mature trees line the rolling fairways and there are also strategically placed bunkers lurking along the greensides. The manageable 6,278-yard length is approachable for beginners yet there are still holes that long hitters will enjoy. Chesapeake Golf Club is a course that will test your skills but it's not overly punishing for the high handicapper.

Great down the street course
A great place to spend the weekend with your wife a son.
An amazing day off
It was a wonderful day off with the golf course in great shape. A little slow behind a six some, but we skipped a hole to prevent a 6 hour round. Greens were rolling nice, wife almost beat me. Better step up my game.
Nice Course
Despite getting to the course 30 minutes early, there was nobody on the course. After paying, went tograb cup of coffee from restaurant but was empty. Had GREAT TASTE in music playing on the radio,though. MARSHALL or Staff was needed as a two-some went right by me as I was on the 6TH Tee waiting to hit my tee shot. Two-some went to other side of lake and each dropped a ball. Informed MARSHALL and PRO SHOP of incident upon finishing round. Greens were being dried out and there was no information to indicate where pins were located on each hole.
Good value
Great value for the money. Course layout was alittle awkward at times going from green to next teebox.
Narrow fairways, pin placement and rough challenged golfers ability to manage course and club selection.
I will be back.

Great time
Our group had a great time playing. It was my first time playing a Chesapeake golf course. The course and the greens are in excellent condition and we will be back to play soon.

Better than before!!
I have to hand it to the staff at Chesapeake Golf Club. They have done some great work out on the course to get it in really good shape. Most tee boxes are in fine shape. The fairways are well maintained. The greens are as good as any around the area. It is a great course for the value.
Great course for a day for Golf
The course was in great shape. 90 degree cart rule which I feel should be standard on all golf courses unless it's wet to keep the fairways in good shape. Greens had a good pace and for the most part, the tee boxes were very good.
Course needs work
This course needs a lot of work. The layout is challenging to begin with but when you combine that with tees that weren't mowed and fairways full of water it made for a miserable round. I am a 9 !handicap and play a lot of golf and I wouldn't play here again for free. I'd like to offer some positive statement but I can't think of anything. I wouldn't want someone to spend a day of their vacation on this course like I did.

Great Rate
This course is always reasonably priced. It is a great course to teach my 9 year old son the game of golf. It has the way up tees that make the game fun for him. Fairways and greens are in great shape right now.
