The Bayonet at Bayonet/Black Horse Golf Course

I have played both courses in the last couple of years. They both are great courses with Bayonet probably more challenging for any level of golfer. They have several tee choices. The greens are spectacular in design and condition. Distances are a bit tricky and a laser or gps is almost a must unless playing with someone very familiar with the course. The courses compare favorably to any others in the area and are a great bargain.

Greens are bent grass very fast. Layout and tree line were beautifful.

These courses never disappoint. Always in great shape and an enjoyable/challenging layout. Staff very friendly, good driving range & practice area. With all the housing development it’s loosing a little charm but not a deterrent.

Love this course - fun, challenging, and beautiful. Wind off the bay can really impact your shots.

Not often you can have the perfect weather day with perfect conditions. No clouds, light breeze, fast greens , well manicured fairways. Awesome today.

Both courses are beautifully laid out and in great shape. The location is everything you would expect from Monterey County; fantastic ocean views, mature trees and a serene setting.

This is one of my most favorite courses in all of Northern or Southern California. It’s absolutely one of the most peaceful courses that you could play. The price is right staff as well trained, and is absolutely a joy to play

Great day for golf, weather was fantastic and the course was in great shape!! Pace of play was very slow on the back 9. Walking foursome was not keeping pace with group in front of them. They were two groups in front of me. Definitely affected my game and concentration.

Great course. Staff was great, had some interesting golfers ahead of us that made it slower than it should have been. That happens sometimes.

Bayonet we found tough and competitive

It’s via around its layout simply stunning.

The greens were uncut and they were stiff healing

From aeration, Putting was very painful.

There should have been modest discount?

This course is a premium venue but not on this day.

Although I have a very nice golf course 4 miles from my house, I do not mind driving 30 minutes to come to this course. Everyone is super friendly, the course is in great shape and the views are spectacular.

The course layout is challenging but fun.

I recommend this course.

I would have given it higher ratings but the greens were aerated two weeks ago and were very sandy and bumpy. Pace of play was fantastic and staff superb as usual.

I thought the fairways were lacking as though they were recently worked on. It seems like they need to be watered better instead of looking like they were insufficiently watered.

This was my first time playing on Bayonet, I’m so glad that I got to experience this course. Im definitely coming back! Some of the best fairways I’ve ever played on. I can’t believe it’s taken me this long to play here.
