Black Horse at Bayonet/Black Horse Golf Course

Greens were horrible! Extreme undulation and NO grass on them. Extremely fast. Very confusing between 7 and 8. Should be better signs for directions!!!

I played early on Black Horse - very fun course. Lots of undulating greens so very challenging if your putting game is off. Great layout and bunkering. Highly recommended - enjoyed playing here a lot. Will come back.

We played BlackHorse and the course is in great condition. The rolling greens are fun, challenging and will encourage you to improve your putting skills.

I played this course a few days prior to a big tournament. Staying in the fairways was a must if you planned to score well. The course over all was well groomed. The greens were very good. I’d definitely recommend this course be put on your list of courses to play when visiting the peninsula

No one informed us that it was cart path only in May and June. A tournament was coming soon and they were preserving the course. Would have been nice to have known before driving 1.5 hours to get there. The course was empty. Everyone else must have known.

I stunk up the place so bad my Foursome was ready to send me packing. Kidding aside, I love the course. Better have your A-game. I just haven't played that bad in months.

We had a lovely day out on this course. It is in excellent condition as there is a PGA completion coming up. However this made for a slower than usual game as carts were only allowed on the cart track. I think it would almost have been easier to walk the course. The greens are very challenging.

This is not an easy course, it has sand traps I end up in often (good practice) Some with good sand others not. The course is being prepared for an up coming PGA TourPro Championship so it was cart path only. We did not expect that and the greens had quite a bit of extra sand in preparation for the event. Kinda wish that was disclosed in the app. We have played this course probably 6 other times so we know how challaging it is. Bay winds are usually present we tee'd off a twilight tee time so be sure to bring a jacket for the last few holes.

Played Black Horse as it was prepared for the upcoming PGA tournament. Excellent shape but playing very tough. Greens are hard and fast. The false fronts are no joke. Lots of fun if you can laugh and not get frustrated.

As always, fantastic day on Black Horse. Course is in fantastic shape - getting ready for the PGA Professional Championship.

Greens firm and fast, rough ‘healthy’, lies pristine.

Live around hour away and wish others in my group lived as close to frequent this gem. Lovexthe cool breeze from the inland heat. Always liked the greens with the subtle break and for $60 tops!

Sand in bunkers was minimal. Fairways chewed up. Cart path only rule was a joke for this course.

The course was fantastic and staff we're brilliant would recommend this course and value for money .

This is one of my 10 favorite courses in California,but this last visit wasn't the regular Blackhorse.Not sure why but a lot of dead areas on the grass,you couldn't drive on the course as they have a tournament coming up in a month.Lots of dead tree branches laying around everywhere,still had a fun round just not the top notch round I grown used to when I golf here.

The golf course was in perfect shape. As good as it gets for the value!
