Black Horse at Bayonet/Black Horse Golf Course

Too many on course distractions. Tractors, red fences,so much ground under repair takes away the beauty of this once great course. Not to mention all the home going up around it.

The course was being redone? Because of the rain and the torn up course it was a total mess! To add insult it was cart path only so it was even worse. One of our players stepped in a deep mud hole and buried her shoe. Another player slipped and fell going down to the second hole green area.

Course was in good shape, tough if you are out of position around the greens....

Beautiful location ruined by too many homes being built !

Have played here since the 70’s … lots of construction in progress around and on course !

Staff - poor greeting, and not friendly!

With so many choices of places to play and a Troon facility- do better on customer service please!

I made the tee time on GolfNow and there was no mention that a dozen or so tee boxes would be closed and we would be teeing off far in front of the regular tees. Had I known I would have not chosen that course. Would have played Bayonet instead if its tee boxes were open. Extremely disappointed in the round. Didn’t get to experience the whole course.

Very friendly staff and great course layout but major renovation on almost every hole. Fairways and greens in very good shape where not bulldozed. Tee boxes were all in transition to new grass

Very nice to come back and play Black horse:) Weather was really nice. It was such a beautiful sight to see Monterey pine trees in the backdrop of the Monterey bay. Course condition was pretty good, and there were several renovation projects going on on the course, and there were new home construction goings on as well. There were many bunkers on the course, and green was pretty and had many ups, and downs. All in all I really enjoyed this round.

Black Horse is under construction right now. Lots of houses being built on the golf course and most of the rough is ground under repair as it is just dirt. It is a shame. So unless you have a military discount you can get a much better value elsewhere.. Hopefully, in a few years when the houses are built and the course is repaired, it won’t be totally ruined.

Course is in great shape. A lot of work has been done and continues to improve. The trees removed have made a big difference on how the course looks and play!

I played a round of golf at Blackhorse GC on Moday the 27th. You couldn’t ask for a better day to play at this beautiful and great golf course. The weather was perfect an playing such a nice course with the beautiful Monterey Bay as a back drop is tough to beat. The course was in very good condition with some areas under repair. I would highly recommend this course to all.

The construction, workers, trucks, and detours destroyed the ambiance of the round.

Undergoing some course upgrades. Areas off the fairways are under construction and possibly turned into waste areas, but still a Great Course.

Overall the course was great never disappoints. But the pro shop staff was very unfriendly. And insisted we couldn’t get range balls cause “we didn’t have enough time” even though we had 25 minutes till our tee time. And felt a sense of us being unwelcome.
