About
Oak Marsh Golf Course is one of the truly classic Pete Dye-designed golf courses in the world. The course was built in 1972 shortly after the completion of the Harbour Town Golf Links at Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. The recent renovation led by Beau Welling was completed in 2025 and was thoughtfully planned to protect the architectural feel of Pete Dye’s original creation.
At par 72, this 6,471-yard course is noted for its tight fairways and small greens, meandering along serpentine salt marsh creeks and through the moss draped heritage oaks for which Amelia Island is famous. With five tee options, the modernized layout was designed to meet the requirements of today’s game brought on by technological advancements in equipment, providing a high-quality and consistent playing experience.

Fun Day
My buddy and I had a fun day. We got paired up with some folks we didn’t know, but they were fun and we had a good time and enjoyed the round. Greens were 2 weeks removed from aerification, so they weren’t very fast, but they had healed nicely.

Fun and challenging layout
Beautiful course. Fairways were excellent. Greens had just went through aeriation so we’re a little fluffy but still putted true. Would definitely play there again when visiting Amelia Island.

Good course
Course was in great shape. My only issue was the greens had been recently punched. Seems like a discount for the greens condition was in order.

Fourth time playing this course. Layout is great. Only drawback for this round where the fairways they didn't seem to be cut evenly and were a little brown from what seemed to be mowers being too low greens rolled pretty true for being on tail end of aeration.

Awesome experience
From the time I stepped off the shuttle, the staff was there to grab my bag, and direct me. The pro shop staff were very friendly and accommodating. The course was beautiful and well maintained. I can’t wait to go back!

Tough course in great condition
Tough course with narrow fairways and lots of sand. Hard to figure speed of Bermuda greens after being used to bent grass.

I had a chance to play Oak Marsh yesterday and as usual was not disappointed. Course is In great shape. Had some very challenging pin placements today.

Pete Dye in full effect
Aside from some tee boxes that were being repaired, encountered very good conditions. After easing the player through a resort-style opening 9, Mr. Dye chose violence on the back. Between small greens and tee shot choices, this intracoastal layout has strong Harbour Town vibes at a fraction of the cost (Golf Now).

Oak Marsh - great layout and conditions
My son and I have played Oak Marsh multiple times and always enjoy the layout and the views. The greens are in great shape, but are normally 'hairy' as it is a resort course and aren't as speedy as the club where we usually play but they are still fun and the overall condition, layout and views are worth a trip.
We played last Sunday in 3 1/2 hours which seems quick, but it felt like 5 hours as we waited on every shot and the rangers didn't really help things along.
Overall, we will definitely be back and always enjoy playing there.
