Oak Marsh Golf Course is one of the truly classic Pete Dye-designed golf courses in the world. The course was built in 1972 shortly after the completion of the Harbour Town Golf Links at Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. The recent renovation led by Beau Welling was completed in 2025 and was thoughtfully planned to protect the architectural feel of Pete Dye’s original creation.

At par 72, this 6,471-yard course is noted for its tight fairways and small greens, meandering along serpentine salt marsh creeks and through the moss draped heritage oaks for which Amelia Island is famous. With five tee options, the modernized layout was designed to meet the requirements of today’s game brought on by technological advancements in equipment, providing a high-quality and consistent playing experience.

Great course

Beautiful course with gorgeous moss covers trees. Course in very good condition. Staff friendly and helpful. Lucky it was a very slow day so we basically had the course to ourselves. Imagine it could get very crowded if there was a conference at the Omni who were playing golf as a bonus.

A slice (pardon the expression) of golf heaven

A lovely course in an idyllic setting. A few forced carries and intimidating greens, but overall not too much of the Pete Dye-ishness that elsewhere causes railroad-tie-a phobia. Friendly staff, great practice facilities, and overall well kept but not too fussy. Put it together with a great Golf Now price and it made for a pretty near perfect morning.

The course was in great shape and very green from all the rain. Everything from the Tee boxes, fairways and greens were in excellent condition. Pace of play was good for a busy course. No long waits and no one was pushing up on us.

If you are staying at the Omni Resort and can score a $50 round from Golfnow, you are winning! The course is fun and extremely well kept. I played two rounds and never encountered dinged up greens.

Didn't have my A Game

The tips are a beast. I had problems with the narrow fairways, 2 and 17 ate my lunch today. Next time I come out I will move up to the blue tees, Grreen are prefect but the 12 downgrade and 6 agaist the grain had me guessing. Pete Dye is a master! Course could not be in better shape. Played on a $50 hot deal
