Omni Amelia Island Resort & Spa - Oak Marsh
About
Oak Marsh Golf Course is one of the truly classic Pete Dye-designed golf courses in the world. The course was built in 1972 shortly after the completion of the Harbour Town Golf Links at Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. The recent renovation led by Beau Welling was completed in 2025 and was thoughtfully planned to protect the architectural feel of Pete Dye’s original creation.
At par 72, this 6,471-yard course is noted for its tight fairways and small greens, meandering along serpentine salt marsh creeks and through the moss draped heritage oaks for which Amelia Island is famous. With five tee options, the modernized layout was designed to meet the requirements of today’s game brought on by technological advancements in equipment, providing a high-quality and consistent playing experience.

Course is in great shape. Greens are plush and roll at great pace. Definitely will go back. Staff very professional and helpful.
It's tricky if you are a long hitter
Be careful with that driver! Lots of marsh and doglegs make for a fairly challenging course. Be sure to pay attention to the screen in the golf carts.
Very Nice Course Better than the Ocean Links
The Marsh is very nice I played both courses while I was there and the Marsh was in way better condition and has some beautiful holes with all the tree's. If I went back I would definitely play it again.
Great course Great Time
Visited the course to check it out first. Found the facility in excellent condition. Decided to play and returned that afternoon. The staff was still very helpful even in late afternoon. Course was in excellent condition even after morning play.
Great Condition
Wow, the course was in great condition. Tees, fairways and greens were in great shape. The rough could be patchy, but that's a you problem. All of the greenside bunkers had fresh, deep sand which led to a few fried eggs, but that was a me problem. The range is a bit small to support both courses, but with range balls include in the greens fees it is a bit hard to criticize. Brand new golf carts with GPS. All in all a first rate experience.
Really Fun Course
Played late on a Saturday morning. Spectacular course layout and really fun course. Played fairly quickly and we didn't have any slow downs. The course was in great condition, except a couple holes on the back 9 do have some construction/renovation going on. The putting greens were average and kinda slow, which is not what I thought we would find at a resort course. The finishing 3 holes are the most challenging. The views along the marsh are beautiful. I would definitely play this course again!
Course variety of holes is unique
Loved the course with every hole being different. The only suggestion I have is to add senior tees for men. I am 72 and have a 10 handicap but the red tees were too easy and the whites had about 6 holes a little too long. If adding senior is aproblem, consider a blend of the Reds and the whites.
Lots of residential
Thought this course would be more remote and nature like. Lots of developement along most holes. Clearly built to spur developement of the resort and not the golf with natural surrounding feel. All in all nice course. Some holes on marsh of intercoastal, but not enough.
Nice layout .. decent value
Great reception, great greens, spotty fairways and tee boxes but still a good deal. Nice marsh views on several holes. I'd go back for the right price.
Great Vacation Round
Started my round early to beat the Monday rain. Most people were either sleeping in or playing Ocean Links. Course conditions were great and the layout provided an enjoyable round for golfers of an skill level. Some form of construction was taking place on several holes on the back nine. Vehicles and workers on the course provided significant distraction. The cart barn guys were entertaining and helpful.
The pro shop had a wide array of clothing and gear and rents Taylormade clubs. They also had 2 trial sets of Titleist clubs. The bar staff was friendly.
Worth the Trip
Amazing course. Exactly what you would expect with the title Oak Marsh. Challenging with some great holes. Course was in much better shape than the Ocean Links. The new sanded bunkers were perfect. When we played they were working on 17 so almost done. Well worth it
Great course for a mid-range golfer
Oak Marsh is a scenic course with forgiving fairways and large, undulating greens. Though short, the course presents challenges that make it interesting.
Great track...conditions not the best
The course layout was really exceptional. The down side is that the staff was rebuilding the back nine bunkers. When we played the last par 3 and this was the most spectacular hole on the course the workers placed equipment in front of the green. We had to skip the hole!
Great deal with golf now rates!
I called the pro shop and was told greens fees were $150.00. Through golf now I booked one day for $.69.00, second day for $59.00.
The course is beautiful with challenging holes and very well maintained. The staff was friendly and helpful. Though worth it at $150.00. I'm glad I checked Golf Now!
Not Sure But Will Play Again
Greens are extremely challenging especially where they set the hole locations on this day. I like the course although it appears course conditions, fairways and green surrounds are marginal at best. I hated all the ground up stone and rock cart paths that you must play off. Destroys your clubs. Many trees could be trimmed to help sunlight on tee boxes and fairways. The thing I disliked most about playing either course was the long distances between greens and tees. I felt as if I drove the golf cart for hundreds of miles.
