Save your money
5 hour round no rangers to be found.... driving range closed for the 3rd time I've played there ....left a Nike jacket in the golf cart went in had lunch came out 30 minutes later and the cart barn thieves had already claimed ownership of it...way better coarses in the area for the price.... will never go back again
Fantastic layout, held back by easy fixes
One of our favorite layouts. Great mix of risk reward holes and challenging strategic holes.
The conditions are improving. The bunkers are wonderful after being redone last year, the greens were good but not refreshed as you would hope after the maintenance closure.
The driving range was shot. No grass to be had at 8:45am.
Saw the beverage cart many times and she was fast and efficient the one time we bought some Gatorades from her. Thumbs up for that.
Now for the biggest problem, easily fixed. Pace of play. They need at least one ranger steadily reversing the course. The group in front of us has two holes open in front them.
If they bumped the greens from 7/10 to 8/10, the rough comes into season, and they hire a ranger, they would increase return bookings by 50% and membership by 25%.
I hope they do because they're sitting on a choice layout.
Good but!
Course and condition was good. Played on a golf pass freebie to try it out. I don’t think it’s worth the normal green fees. Other courses are just as good for less money
Needs a few Changes
Pace of play is extremely slow on the back nine. Course needs a ranger.
Many fairways are too thin and soft mud underneath. Greens are unusually hard.
Thank you for taking the time to give us you thoughts on Legacy Golf Club. We agree there's no better layout in the area. Each hole is different from the next and it's hard to get bored with the unique Palmer Signature design. We do take your concerns seriously and share them too. Pace of Play being the most important. At Legacy we have an internal GPS system on carts that allows the pro shop staff, starters and rangers to take proactive steps - and have found that system is PERFECT for our needs of monitoring and managing pace of play better every month. We do have the infrequent call out due to sickness by a ranger and unfortunately you played on one of those days. It goes to show that they are valuable to pace of play. The good news is we've invested not only time, but money to make your day more enjoyable by moving our play through the course quickly. The rebuilt tif eagle greens are now about a year old and we're now getting good speed and smoothness along with the greens being more receptive to longer approach shots. Come on back out and enjoy the course you love to play, we are listening to you.
Slow pace. Limited staff.
Pace of play very slow. No marshall on the course. We quit on #15 after 4hrs & 20 minutes of play. There were four groups playing 15 hole, and 3 groups on each hole ahead. It would have been a 5 1/2+ hour round, well above the 4 Hr 16 minutes they pace.
The course seemed to be overbooked .We had to wait until the last minute before our tee time just to get a cart. Staff seemed overly busy but doing their best.
Pro shop was closed at 6 pm when we left the course so there was no one available to whom we could mention these concerns.
Always a great round at Legacy
The course layout is always great. Tough but fair and tests all parts of your game. New greens are beautiful and the improved bunkers looked great
good and bad
course has a great layout , accommodating tees. Greens putted well but didn't hold shots.. One 4some slowed pace and no ranger present to push. fairways and sand traps varied from good to poor. I 'd play again at discounted price.
Marshall influenced by locals
Let me start by saying we have been coming to this course and playing here for the last 10 years...I was so disappointed by what transpired...as we pulled up at the bag drop an employee started to assist us, simply stopped as a Porsche pulled up and she knew him, had a casual conversation and ignored us...but whatever’s Playing with me today was my son (high school level golfer) and his uncle and his son. We discussed to play best shot to ensure speed of play. We were supposed to tee at 8:52 but apparently the first groups of golfers were running late and we didn’t get off the first tee until 9:04. No big deal right...until after waiting in 2 of the first 5 holes and we were stopped by the Marshall on the 6th and said we really needed to pick up play. I was amazed and embarrassed because never have been accused of this and have always been a fan of fast play. The people behind us were a group of locals that we ran into in the clubhouse and knew most the staff members I noticed as I checked in and tried to buy a ball marker for my son but was ignored and interrupted by their “game” and conversations that involved the gentleman behind the counter. I watched this group of gentleman continue to pull up on us with hands our hips to the point where they acted like they were members...on a public course. I belong to 2 country clubs back home and understand the members first mentality. Marshall was so out of line as we finished in 3:55 and waiting in every hole through the rest of the back nine. Was uppisednto be a great day between 2 dads and their teenage sons, but we’re ruined by people that only care about there friends....
Perfect as Always
A great day on a great course. From the guys who help with your clubs to the people on the mowers everyone is great. Fun day with my dad on an awesome course. Kudos to KC in the pro shop. Who could not live the guys. Always friendly and willing to offer golf advice when asked. Course is in awesome shape. The greens are fast and the tee boxes perfect. Will be returning all summer for sure
Golf Now failed to make the reservation
We arrived and there was no record of the reservation and we were told that’s routine and that we should book directly through the courses.
Legacy @ Lakewood Ranch
Good condition & layout.
Starter was not friendly.
I would recommend this course.

First time playing Legacy...a challenging layout. Course was dry so ball rolled well. Most fairways were tight and some carry over water but fair. Most holes had water in play. Greens held well. Our 3-some played with a single, Donna from Wisconsin who played the course previously and provided helpful advice. Pace of play was ok at 4 hours and 20 minutes and although we waited on most holes, it wasn’t long. An enjoyable day and we’ll definitely be back.
This course is in great condition
Driving range and practice greens good..several T boxes to accommodate every handicap many challenging holes great day and would recomend course excellent value for the money
Legacy
Very nice course. Could have been in better shape. Rangers and starters a bit salty. pro shop friendly. 4:05 round. There were a few spots around each hole that could have used some seed and loam. Range in particularly bad shape. Putting green doesn't jive with course greens. But overall a nice time. Will return.
nice
course was in good plus shape. Pace of play was excellent.
Good for the money
I played during the peak season for $89. That’s about right for this course. There are better tracks in the area but they are over $130 a round. I’d play again for that cost.
Thank you for taking the time to let us know how much you enjoy the Legacy Golf Club layout. Yes - unique and fun track - and hard to get bored with it week in and week out. Pace of Play is one of our main concerns also and we have invested a lot of time and money into improving this year because with Legacy's challenging layout, we have to help our players around. We installed an internal GPS on every cart and invested in a system that tracks the carts based on individual pace of play the USGA deemed appropriate for Legacy, which is 4 hours 16 minutes. Our rangers have an I-Pad to allow them to monitor pace minute by minute in real time -- and are required to stay on top of pace of play 7 days a week. The Greens and Fairways have been great through the season and have held up very nicely.
Look forward to welcoming you back to Legacy again soon.
