Legacy Golf Club

I cant believe that an Arnold Palmer signature course has fallen into such bad shape. The greens were horrible, the fairways had so many patches of weeds there was no benefit of being in the fairway. I can see that this was once a really nice course, but no longer. Was a good deal $40 for golf lunch and two beers. That was the only saving grace.

This use to be a great place to play. Conditions were terrible and not up to the standard I'm expected from this property. I hope that conditions will improve soon, I really use to enjoy this track.

Called before making tee time to ensure greens were good and not aerated. Pro shop told me they were " in great shape" but "a little slow".

Guess what? They were slow all right and full of sand after a recent aeration.

I probably would still play but a little honesty would have been appreciated.

Guess I shouldn't complain considering it cost only $29 which included 2 beers and lunch.

Horrible course conditions. Greens were pitiful, bunkers and fairways were not maintained. Not the quality course I loved to play in the past!

Great course. Really wet with some drainage challenges. We were first off the block and grounds crew held us back so a bit better planning would have helped. Sand traps were a mess and needed real attention.

Anyone who plays golf in Florida in the summer, knows that you have opportunities on great courses at heavily reduced rates.

I live in Parrish, and had just played Club Renaissance, Waterlefe, and Stoneybrook at or well under $40. They're all premium tracks, especially Waterlefe, and are in nice shape: good greens, traps, and fairways that give you real value for the money. More importantly, as a serious golfer and student of the game, they give you satisfaction that your effort wasn't compromised by poor conditions. So it was a bit shocking to get to Legacy (booked in the parking lot at our previous round) and pay $41.73 for very poor greens (from deeply pock-marked to shaggy, to various depth surfaces) and unraked or unplayable traps. Have to say that the course layout is well designed and challenging, and that made the flaws somewhat tolerable.

We drive up and get greeted by the cart guy who provided excellent service, we go inside and get greeted by the nice lady running the counter and we get excellent service. We are the first group off the tee and see no one all day long save for the cart lady. Just a bit disappointed about the condition of the greens and the sand traps. One sand trap was marked as ground under repair and all it needed was the weeds taken out of it and good raking. Wish we would have been told about the greens before hand. In desperate need of some TLC. Took some getting used to but we had quite a few pars and some half way decent scores. Easily gets 5 stars had it not been for the greens and sand traps....

Where to start.....overpaid to play as our threesome had a last minute change of plans / times, so we took a chance on Legacy....BAD move

First a couple of positives....the course is well laid out, a few holes make you think about club selection and direction of play....pace of play was fantastic (because there was no one else on the course on a late Wednesday morning

So.....the deal we got for our $42 !!!!!!.....was a sandwich and either 2 draft beers in the restaurant or a can of beer from the cart girl.....We opted for a sandwich at the turn and decided to have our beers post round.

Upon arrival into the restaurant around 10am, for our 12:36 tee time we were not so warmly told the restaurant doesn't open until 11 !!!! OK, so much for that breakfast sandwich, we did get a stale, cold cup of coffee though...have to be thankful for that right?

Driving range smells like manure....probably fertilized the course, but seriously....it STUNK

After completing the round, we get back for those highly anticipated beers. When we signed in in the pro shop in the morning, we were given a business type card which had to be presented for our beers.

My buddy never received a card and the server in the restaurant would not believe (?) he was entitled to 2 free beers. Off to the pro shop to ask for a card. Well, you would have thought he asked for a 50% stake in the whole operation. "i wasn't here this morning to check you in"....."did you play"...."I can't just give you a card" ...."can't help you"

Back to the restaurant where he got the "no card, no beer treatment".....shaking our heads here

Theres no one in the place (shocker) and to deny a paying player the opportunity to get their 2 free beers (cost to the club ???? mere pennies) ....showed an amazing lack of customer first attitude.....it was never about getting something we didn't deserve and all we wanted was an after round refreshment

Penny wise and dollar foolish.....

Needless to say, the odds are extremely long against any of the 3 of us ever going back to Legacy again

Disappointing. they just can't get it right. Greens uneven, not true, and few major damage. You need good greens to score on this course. I keep trying because it is a super layout, but won't be back until they turn it around.

A few greens being repaired but aside from that, very nice track! Would play again, even knowing about the current repairs! Friendly staff, nice layout, challenging but fair.

This course has been up and down in the last few years. Used to be a fantastic course but seemed to suffer a couple of years back. Seems to have been brought back and in better condition. Great layout and good condition.

hard to judge the course because I was too fed up with pace of play. waiting on every shot is one thing, waiting forever is another. many times we got to next tee to find group ahead still there !!! greedy course sold tee times in the middle of a tournament outing that they deemed not big enough to warrant closing course. they should have put the tourney on one 9 and just double looped the rest of us on the other. or posted some warning on the tee time.

if you want a good breakfast or lunch this is a great place . the wait staff is very polite and courteous. the cook does a great job of preparing the food. if you are more interested in golf don't walk, RUN from this place . we play golf 3 times a week mostly at esplanade , Lakewood national ,waterleaf , rosedale ,& university park. we quit playing legacy last year because of poor condition. we've played it a few times since then and enjoy the layout. this latest encounter will be our last. our t-time was1;48 with a confirmation #. my playing partner arrived before I did and tried to check in with the clerk. . he told her the t-time & she said he was wrong that it was 1;24 no explanation just kinda threw his pre paid receipt on the counter . he phoned me with the good news and I really had to scramble to get there by 1;24. we ran to the t-box because they had a tournament following us. the twosome they put us with experienced the same rude treatment. if you like weed filled fairways ,red ant piles on every t-box & greens in terrible shape plus a 5 hour round make a t -time at the legacy!! make sure you get there early so the rude obnoxious clerk can belittle you. the weeds & ants were tolerable, the rude woman was not. the other courses mentioned are immaculate with very friendly staff and greet you with professionalism. no wonder the legacy has $ 18.00 hot spots we wouldn't play it again for free.

Our deal included a lunch meal. We had an 1140 teatime, finish the round at about quarter after four, the kitchen closed at four. So we were unable to take advantage of that part of the deal. Also, before you buy range balls asked if it's grass or mats. Bought range balls went out there and Hit off of mats. Overall a fun layout and a decent value for the money. I will play there again
