Legacy Golf Club

They're so desperate for business, they dangle many 'carrots' to entice players. Their discounted round with an included lunch seemed like a good deal. Unfortunately, this resulted in too many golfers as evidenced in overbooking and a 4 3/4 hr. round of golf. During my 10 minutes spent checking in, I witnessed several other groups who were double-booked. This created a mess on the course. On two visible holes, there were six (6) groups at various points. At the turn, there were four (4) other groups waiting to tee off.. Although I like the course, I very much doubt I'll return. Many other frustrated players voiced the same.

Course in very good condition. Fairways were excellent and the greens running at a good pace.

Fantastic value thanks to Golf Now and we had a memorable day. Staff were very helpful and welcoming. Good food options afterwards and we left feeling this was a very good golfing experience.

Course was in decent shape except that greens and tee boxes had not been mowed for a while. Greens were bumpy and tee boxes shaggy. Six sets of tees so every type of golfer can choose difficulty. Great range and practice areas. No GPS and fairway yardage markers were scarce. Our tee time was pushed back 20 minutes, the only reason given was some staff member didn't show up that morning to open up the facility. The staff that was there was very accommodating. Best part of the deal was the fact a great lunch and two beverages were included in the green fee price.

I thought this is one of the most unique courses I have played. No 2holes were the same. Each hole had its unique characteristics. As 15 handicap, I've always feared a 200yd par 3 over water, but was excited to play this one. Amazing, one-of-a-kind course. If ever in the area again, and I hope to be, will be a first on my list to play. Kudos!!!

Not only was the golf course in great shape, the $35 included lunch and two beverages. Some greens were a little patchy but over-all the course was in great shape.

Had to wait on every tee for an average of almost five minutes.

Teetimes were too close to each other (8 min).

The permanent waiting (until fairways and greens were clear) killed the rhythm of play.

Layout and tee to green very nice. Hope the greens will be better once they are over seeded.

Golf course to play in the area even if it was a little slow with 3 party with 4 golfers in front of me.

Liked the 6 boxes to choose from. Plenty of water on the course and the cart cooler came with ice and cups. Food and beverage vouchers were included with our round, but the grill closed at 3pm, we weren't given that info, we finished our round around 4pm. We still enjoyed 2 free tap beers

This course has a great layout but unfortunately has been neglected over the years. Every green needs redone and not one bunker had been groomed.

Great time !! The course deal was great ! 49.00 includes 2 beverages and lunch !! The fairways were great ! The entire group felt that greens were in just In Average condition !! I shot 78 !! I will play the course again !

I have played Legacy Golf Club 3 times in the last 10 days. I read all of the reviews about the bad greens. I agree they still need some time to heal but I noticed the first time that I played, that although the greens were in poor shape, it looks like the greens crew is doing all the right things to fix them. They were aerated, sanded, and there was plenty of green patching seed on the bad spots. Each time I have played since then I could see improvement in the greens and I really think that as soon as the weather cools down a little bit the greens will really improve. The fairways and tees are in good shape. You can very easily play summer rules on the fairways. I will be playing here again and I suggest that others give it a try.

The reason I gave the course a "somewhat challenging" is because although there is a lot of water and a few forced carries, there are 6 different tees to play and plenty of room to hit it away from the water.

Do yourself a favor and book after time at another course. Greens are abysmal!!

Water, water everywhere! You need to be able to manage the course and stay in the fairways. Nice layout with very playable holes. The greens need some work and the sand traps were hard probably due to the rain the past few days. Enjoyed playing and will definitely return.

The staff is excellent and the course layout is interesting. By interesting, I mean there are a lot of forced carries over waste bunkers as opposed to forced carries over water or gorges.. So you won't loose your golf ball but your score will be higher. However, the greens were burned out and several appeared to have disease setting in. I would not play here again if the greens are in that condition.

I played Legacy about a year ago with some friends that were good players, we played from the #2 tees and it was quite a struggle for me. It's a beautiful layout, but that was too long for my game. I played with some less experienced players this time, we played a 3/4 combo and the round was so much more enjoyable. DJ in the pro shop signed us for their loyalty club and gave us their email rate with lunch. The food was delicious. The course was in good shape, the greens are almost all the way back from aeration(I played July 8), so I'll be back for sure

I really like the layout of Legacy. The back 9 is as pretty and fun as anything in the area and I've played everything within 30 miles of LWR. I was thrilled the new owners seemed to be turning it back around with improved conditions during 2016 Spring. Sad to say, it's gone downhill again. Many bare tee boxes, weeds throughout the greens make it IMPOSSIBLE to sink anything over 5 feet unless you get a lucky bounce. This is not from punching, these are weeds and an uneven surface. I can almost put up with a poor course if the greens roll true, these are not fun and totally take away from the experience. I hit several real good putts that bounced 3-6 inches off line. A couple decent greens out of the entire 18. Growing and unaddressed diseased spots on greens and collars, chewed up hole locations, did I mention the weeds on the greens? The regular list of things that are normal with a declining/poorly maintained course. Such as shame...this place could be SO much more. The staff is friendly and helpful and the location is awesome. I don't know the financials of running a course. Maybe this is what you get for the $ in SW FL, but they are going to have a hard time in this town with these conditions and prices over $30. I really want to play here more often and was expecting to when I saw it getting back in shape in the Spring. C'mon owners, you can still save it. As it is now I'm sorry to say, I won't be back. Too many better choices.

all was good but the greens were just punched and we didn't find out till we got there. apart from that it was a great day.

I played this course several years ago, and by comparison, the course condition has deteriorated. The greens were only "fair" with many weeks/crabgrass growing in them. The tees were ragged. The fairways were fine, but many of the bunkers needed maintenance. My biggest issue was there was NO DRINKING WATER on the back nine. It was 90+ degrees and all water jugs were empty...not acceptable!!!
