Black Bear Golf Club

Great course. The course is challenging and playable for all level of golfer. The course favors a high ball hitter due to the elevated greens that lack depth. Several flags were placed in areas that were no more than 10 paces deep. A wayward approach will leave you a treacherous putt or chip based on the slopes on the greens. The fairways are generous but be sure to pay attention to the fairway bunkers because they are in play off the tees. Some of the bunkers need some maintenance, but avoiding them eliminates the issue. The greens were firm and rolled true, but were a little slower than normal. Overall Black Bear is an excellent course and a great value.

We were pleasantly surprised about this course, it was in very good shape, and the perfect place for my wife to play with me since she doesn’t play alot, very few water carry holes which was good for her, but still plenty of trouble for me to hit into, lots of bunkers, the course in great shape, fairways were very nice, few spots here and there but overall nice, greens rolled well, we enjoyed the course

Greens were ridiculously small and challenging. A fun tough challenge.

This is honestly the best Black Bear has been since the new owners took it over. Other than a few tee boxes having some aeration done the course is near mint tee to green.

Punched tee boxes, some over-sanded, but doesn't really affect play. Greens are thick, consistent, but a little slower than I like. Evidence of lots of fertilizer recently applied.

course is in good shape - another few weeks it should be fabulous.

The tee boxes where punched but it did not effect the play, fairways and green were in great condition.

Staff was friendly and the pace of play was not an issue.

Love this course and always in great shape.....yesterday was no exception....really nice conditions and greens rolling well!

Fast challenging greens and amazing elevation changes.

Overall the course is in great shape and the layout is tough but forgiving. Greens may be the toughest part of the course unless you hit too many bunkers. Nachos and brews afterwards were very good so all in all it was a great day!

We had a nice time on a challenging course. Everyone was nice and accommodating, the greens are running fast and true. As usual with this time of year, more grass is needed in places on the tees and the fairways it I am being picky

Greens and fairways in great shape. Pace of play was great friendly staff. Would go back again.

I enjoy this course for the layout. I always seem to meet great and enjoyable people when I get paired at Black Bear. My only negatives concerning this course is that the greens are very slow. There’s grass almost everywhere, but if I had to guess a stimp meter, it would be a 6 or 7. It was still enjoyable to play tee to green though. Oh, would SOMEONE please take the bunkers? Ugh!
