Great layout, great conditions, friendly staff
Can’t wait to play here again. If I could afford it, love to be a member
Sooo HOT
Well, it was bound to happen. For the first time all year, the greens have started to show a little wear and tear from the high heat we have been experiencing but are relatively in good shape. The rough off the fairways needed cutting as it was longer than usual....and I should know. Haha. The only thing that I might add is that they should place a water cooler full of water bottles at some of the holes on the course. There are no beverages being sold on the course and the only place you can buy the refreshments to cool you off is at the snack bar. With as much business as they are getting during this pandemic, I am sure they can afford to go to Sam's club and get a lot of bottled water and place them in some coolers with ice for the golfers. Think of it as an investment to your customers to stave off dehydration so that they can return to your hospitable establishment. Still love the course and still love playing there. Staff is extremely nice and the people that play there are courteous and play at a pretty good pace. Always recommend this place. Not too hard for a novice but still challenging for good golfers to enjoy, too.
Quality Course
Great value for a well kept course. Very challenging, need to make shots to score. Lots of elevation. Fun course to play.
Just an all around great friendly place to play!
Staff is super friendly. Course is fun but also challenging. I love the elevation changes throughout the holes. Especially hole 3 and 4. Hole 14 is also a great hole on the back nine.
I for one love that this course has 6 par 5s and 3s. It allows you to score well if you are striking it well. Lots of risk reward.
Today it was extremely hot! Maybe 105 heat Index. The Marshall checked on us frequently and even gave us free Gatorade and water.
Even when I’m hitting it poorly it’s a great day at the highlands golf club!
Tuff track
Overall the course was in good shape, the greens were a little slow due to the watering, because of the heat.
Nice course, friendly staff...but beware social distancing in carts
Loved the course, friendly staff, masks required in the Pro shop. All good However, when I checked in I was told that on weekends they put two people to a cart. That doesn’t work for me in the current state of COVID-19. They were able to accommodate my request for a single cart so it wasn’t a problem, but you should check in advance. Note that I started the review with friendly staff and they really were super nice,
2nd time, EVEN BETTER!!
When I played this course the first time, I actually enjoyed it but not as much as this time! The greens are perfect and the fairways are actually in much better shape than before. I don't give very many courses five stars but this one deserves it this time. Keep up the good work!
All around awesome
This course first caught my attention by the layout of the holes. Five par 5s and five par 3s. Gives every level of golfer a great opportunity to score well. The pace of play was the best of any course around. We played in just under 4 hours with a 15 min lunch break at the turn. And that was with 4 people. Greens were slightly on the “slicker” side and ran about as true and any other course around. The type of greens i like. The only little thing I could complain about is that they told the 4th player (who wasn’t with me and my other two friends) to get in the cart with our single partner. Wouldn’t be an issue if it wasn’t during a global pandemic. I know it’s a frowned upon to have 3 carts in one group, but people’s health and safety are number one. Asking two random people to share a cart is not safe anyway you look at it. But the guy was really cool and we had a great time none the less. Definitely will be back to this course soon. Highly recommend!
Good Course for an "Emergency 18"
Some people try to sneak in an "emergency 9" after work. I decided to stretch that to 18 holes on this day, finishing in just under 2 hours (with a cart, obviously).
The course is in the best shape I've seen it in a while and you can see the improvements around some of the greens that they continue to make.
Pace of play obviously wasn't an issue and never really is here despite how busy they are. Props to the staff for keeping things running smoothly!
The Highlands
The staff is awesome , professional, and accommodating. Course was in great condition with pin placements challenging. Best course around for the money.
Great Richmond Course
This is a great challenging course. Greens were in great shape. Play was a little slow, but that’s to be expected on such a nice day. The staff did a great job keeping things moving. Highly recommend.
Greens fast and true
Greens were in great shape. Fairways were wet and grass not at good height. Lot of clover on course which makes finding ball a problem
Wonderful Round of Golf
Rained a tremendous amount the day before our round so the course was cart path only but we had a great time. Minus the standing water in the fairways low spots, the greens were quick and made for a fun time. We will be back soon!
Great course for the price.
My friends and I booked this event through GolfNow/GolfPass and got the hot deal special 11:10 am 4 players for $26 plus cart worth it big time. One player per cart practicing social distancing when possible. Course was in great shape for this time of the year. Staff was Uber professional and friendly. Weather was awesome. Highly recommend this course for all levels of skill.
Nice course, always in pretty good shape.
Course was very busy. Course was in pretty good shape. Fairways have a way to go to fill in and greens still have some healing but were getting close to very good. As people were out in force with many riders as well as walkers, the pace moved pretty well and the round was just over 4 hrs. Beverage cart was stocked and came around several times. Difficult times were handled well and things ran fairly smoothly. I miss the bar afterwards, always good beer and food.
