South/North at Fernandina Beach Golf Club
About
South/North is one of three golf courses at Fernandina Beach Golf Club. The facility is home to three distinct nines that form three different 18-hole combinations. Winding through thick forests of oaks and pines, Fernandina Beach Golf Club's South/North course offers a glimpse at native Florida wildlife. The South nine depends more on accuracy rather than distance while the north nine, the shortest in length of the three, features undulating greens. Water hazards also come into play throughout the golf course. Fernandina Beach's 27 unique holes are made even more appealing by the affordable rates and convenient proximity to Jacksonville and the beach.

Average course
Not bad for a public course. Easy design with wide open fairways. Greens are a bit rough but not bad. $50 course at best.
South/west
Enjoyed South/west course more so than North/west. C
Convenient course on Island. If just starting season it’s great for warm up. Much cheaper than Amelia River, which is nice. I
Needs some rain
Course was very dry,
Tees were chewed up and crowned at times
Greens rolled true and fast
Worst tee boxes ive seen
Worst tea boxes I’ve seen in a while, barely any grass very sandy . No flat level spot to tee off . Either below or above your feet . Very bad way to start each hole. Just over all disappointment
Disappointed
Tee boxes were sandy trash , not a single flat spot to tee up . You had to either tee it up below your feet or above your feet, rough way to start each hole, course conditions have been alot better in the past! Fair way was decent , the rough was like playing out of sand instead of rough. Greens do not have a fringe. out of my last 20 outings this year this was my least favorite so far. I enjoyed it better in the past
Nice Course
This is a three nine hole course. We played the west and south course. Upon arrival the staff were really helpful and nice. The practice facility was great. I loved the layout of each course, can be challenging but very manageable. Be aware that there are a lot of trees. The courses were in really good condition for this time of year. Greens were really fast. We paid $49 through golf now and I feel that it was definitely worth it. Look forward to going back and playing the north course next time.
Need to Rename Course to Plantation Oaks
Played the North and West courses. Many holes have large oak tree limbs hanging out over the fairways and tee boxes. Course needs some serious tree trimming but likely won't happen due to oak trees are over 200 years old.
I likley will not play this course again and IMO not worth the cost to play it.
Improving
Greens are very good, traps are good, tees ok, fairways still a bit thin. Even with the dormant Bermuda grass coming to life, the fairways are still thin.
