West/South at Fernandina Beach Golf Club

Easy accessible local course. Needs attention to most areas. Enjoyed my round

This course has 3 nines, north, south and west. I played North followed by West. The tee boxes were in good condition, the fairways were terrible and the greens just slightly better. The West 9 was a little better then North but not much. Didn’t play South but I was told it is worse than North and West.

Too bad, a beautiful location. With a little TLC and some irrigation it could be a very nice course.

Course seems to lack sufficient staff and resources to maintain it to a reasonable standard. No starter most days. No marshalls to keep play moving. Traps lack sand( only thin layer. ) Quite a few fairways lack complete grass cover( bump the ball for any type of lie. Nice staff

Got to the course and paid for round. Was told no starter “just tee off at your time”. Playing west to south. First tee box only had 1 set of tees as the blue tee box was overgrown. Greens were destroyed by fungus and little to no grass to putt on. Cart paths were torn up and falling apart, bunkers had about 1/2” of dirt “no sand”. 2 par 4 holes on the south course were closed off and made into par 3’s hitting off mats. Just a terrible round. I drove 2 hrs one way to play a course that couldn’t be bothered with course maintenance. Just horrible.

27 hole lay out. Played West & South. South was not outstanding however the West was horrible. Loss fairs & lost greens on two holes with temporary tee boxes. No warning at the club house. I will not recommend to course.

Has the potential to be a good municipal course but little or no money goes back into matainance. Managed by “non golfers “

North Course was in nice shape. South fairways are still in poor condition.

Need top soil and a plan to rehab on a hole by hole basis. Layout is great.

Need topsoil and grass planted to recover the South Course.

They had nice, fast greens, but that's it. The course was dirt and weeds. A lot of the tee boxes were uneven, and had little to no grass

Nice layout and staff are welcoming and friendly. It was only $29 but you get why you pay for.

This course has really gone downhill. What used to be a cheaper, OK course has really fallen apart. Tee boxes are uneven as they come. Fairways have tons of mud, more than they have grass. Cart paths are rough, really rough. Carts do not run well.

Fairways on the south course need water and attention.

Better conditions on the West 9.

For $30 it was just fine- had a fun back nine but it was slow
