West/South at Fernandina Beach Golf Club
About
Just north of the Jacksonville Airport, Fernandina Beach Golf Club offers three 18-hole courses that are conveniently located within distance of both Jacksonville and the beach. There are three distinct nines at the club that create three different 18-hole combinations. The West/South combination is the tournament course at Fernandina Beach Golf Club. The West nine is long and there is a challenging par-5 that is one of the most difficult on the golf course. The South nine features an abundance of trees and water hazards, putting a heavier emphasis on accuracy rather than distance in scoring well. The golf course is also considered a perfect example of scenic Florida golf with native foliage and wildlife throughout.

Golfer Reviews
The Course Needs Some TLC
A great public course on an island that is only getting more crowded. This course has great potential but is in need of some maintenance work, especially around the greens.
Good Value for the Money, decent course.
Enjoyable course for the cost. Very inexpensive compared to other courses.
Worth a try if you have never been there.
Very limited Clubhouse amenities.
Great Value.
I think some of the negative reviews are too harsh. Yes some of the fairways have rough spots and one of the 18 greens we played was in poor shape, but overall the course was in great shape. Green fairways smooth greens and beautiful views. We paid $40 with a cart for 18. The course was not crowded and the staff friendly and welcoming. If you wanna be a snotty golfer who demands Augusta National greens then go play somewhere else.
Condition
The greens were awful. Brown and hard. The Course and a green had wheels chemical tracks.
Good for beginners
No pressure course. Good for beginners. Bathrooms on the course were filthy.
Easy to get on......
It’s an inexpensive municipal course. Staff is great, lunch/ clubhouse- superb! Great service- course needs lots of work. Walkers shouldn’t be allowed during peak times- extremely slow play, very frustrating.
Northerns enjoyed the course
Enjoyed playing 18 holes, was not crowed, greens were a little fast, had to take a penalty stroke on one hole........alligator wouldn’t’ move. Starter was helpful, we will be back.
Fairways In poor conditions but greens ok
This course will be great again needs care in fairways greens being reworked too. Great value though for Sunday.
