Mission Inn Resort & Club - Las Colinas Course
About
Las Colinas is one of two championship golf courses at Mission Inn Resort. It is less challenging than the other course, El Campeon, but both provide enjoyable and unique rounds. Las Colinas sprawls across gently rolling hills with elevation changes that are less startling than those found throughout the older El Campeon course. Twisted oak hammocks and a sprinkling of lush pines accent Las Colinas. The golf course has an inland links layout that boasts wide-open, forgiving fairways and large, receptive greens. There is an interesting variety of risk/reward opportunities as well as a few forced carries. The course has many player-friendly features but its classic architecture does call for a fair amount of accuracy, especially on its signature hole, the par-5 12th. Nicknamed "Alligator Alley," this 493-yard hole features a winding, tree-lined fairway.

Always in great condition
Previous day central Florida had torrential rains. Couldn't tell by the conditions on Las Colinas. A perfect day. A little cold, 60's, very good pace of play. Staff is always friendly. Love this golf course.
Needs work
I have played this course many times before but it has been a few years, the course looks like it gets a lot of play, and is in bad shape especially in the rough areas, the greens are very nice along with the tee boxes
Room for improvement
We could not finish. Had several groups in front that could barely play golf and didn’t consider letting our group go by. At one point they started to play scramble and it didn’t improve. Ice machine broken, no beverage cart after 3 pm. Ranger nowhere to be seen. Good lay out golf course conditions above average.
Pure Las Colinas
Mission Inn Golf + Resort should be must play for any avid golfer. The “Las Colinas”course is labeled as the “easier” course of the two you can play at Mission Inn but still provides a fun challenge. Las Colinas translates to “The Hills” so be prepared for elevation changes and some blind shots. The Par 3s are long and mostly over water so make sure you use enough club! Course was in great condition with just a few tee boxes/greens that could use some TLC. I paid $90ish after taxes for a 7:53 AM tee time so this course also didn’t break the bank when most of the other premier courses in the area are going for well over $150 this time of year.
Some holes were great, some were not
Course play left more to be desired on the back 9. Considerable distance between holes. At times I felt I was
Spending more time driving my cart than playing. I appreciated very much the cart’s distance to the hole app/graphics. Overall an enjoyable round but you do feel you are playing the “2nd” course and a little envious to not be playing El Campion…
Slow 🐌 5 hours plus
I would love if the management kept the pace of play at 4 hours or under. Nobody needs more than 4 hours to play a round. I understand that nobody wants to rush though their round they payed for, however 4 hours is very fair ask.
As much as customers that don't want to be rushed there are just as many that don't want to wait on every tee box.
Happy medium.
Starter needs to understand pace of play
I am a regular at Mission Inn, I probably play there 8 times a month at least. I do feel like I should bring up the pace of play after today's 5 hour round. My tee time was 945am and I finished around 300pm!!! That's not the worst part, I talked to the starter for the first time on around hole 5 ish. I told him the pace was horrible, at one point there was 2 foursomes on the tee box and then me 🤦♂️. The thing that really got me mad was the Starter. He was kinda rude to me for him not doing his job. He literally told me "the pace of play is good we give 15 minutes a hole. I said there is no way they are keeping pace of play....!!!....!!...at the end of the day I was right because the customer always is and for the simple fact it was a 5 plus hour round.
The starter needs to hold a standard for ALL members, none members doesn't matter. More importantly he needs to listen to customers, I could have shown him exactly what I was talking about but he Instantly dismissed what I was telling him. Two 80 year old gentleman and there sons where keeping up right behind me, I only know this because I basically saw them on every tee box...... oh and they were not happy either....
what's going on?
1. Played. here for 30 yrs., in worst shape ever.
While still a good course. * a good value if getting a discounted rate. they have a fungus problem, and a mole or vole? problem, to which #14 is a prime example.
2. I pre-purchased a time online, which was the 1st time avail. after some kind of outing / tournament. & was asked to not press them (as a single). That was impossible to do, due to the v. slow pace of a what looked like a v. junior girls tournament. In my opinion, Mission should not've sold a time where they KNEW could not have played at a normal pace, or had no chance of completing a round before dark.
Condition of course
Front nine was very good and fun to play. Back nine was in poor condition fairways were either bare or trying to resod or very wet and your cart would almost get stuck.
Had a good round. Course was as expected
Played an early morning round. Had a good time!!!!
Worth the Hour-Long Druve from Orlando
I've played both courses. Given my high handicap, Las Colinas is by far my favorite at the resort. Each hole is varied and nicely spaced. The course is long and it can be exhausting to play all 18 holes, but I've made the drive several times niw from Orlando. The course is a great, wide-open venue. I'll return for sure.
Phenomenal Golf Course!
What I love about Las Colinas is that you are out in nature without houses lining the fairways. Most of the holes have Woods lining at least one side if not both sides of the fairway. Beautiful Florida landscape with a challenging course that made the day so much fun!
Worth spending a little more.
This course is worth every penny. It’s in great shape, staff is friendly, great food, overall excellent experience.
