Bent Creek Golf Course
About
Since the opening of Bent Creek Golf Course in 1989, the 6,420-yard, par-71 course has provided a challenging golf experience for residents of Northeast Florida and visitors alike.
Crafted by renowned architect Bobby Weed with consulting services by Mark McCumber, Bent Creek's meandering terrain takes golfers through a certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary, towering pines and alongside creeks and swales. The championship layout boasts Bermuda grass greens, plush fairways and a state-of-the-art lighted practice facility - home of the Bent Creek Golf Academy.
From the back tees, Bent Creek carries a rating of 71.6 and a slope of 136. The challenge starts with the first hole, which measures 538 yards from the gold tees, just 20 yards short of No. 15, the longest hole on the golf course.

They could do better
In Jacksonville we have had a lot of rain but still there area where they can do better they had to redo their greens at that time you're using temporary greens they just need to put a little bit more money into the course
Bent Creek Jax
Great and challenging layout. Greens are in great condition coming in well.
Temporary greens- did not communicate
Course had temporary greens which we didn’t figure out until the 1st hole. Nothing on golf now and nothing from the pro shop. Major drainage issues as well, water was everywhere with large puddles on several holes.
Going to be good
I had never played Bent Creek so I wanted to see how bad it was. I knew all holes had temporary greens but was pleasantly surprised. It was cart path only do to all the rain we've had but fairways were in good condition, just saturated. Tee boxes were OK for most part. I looked over most of the redone greens and they look as if they will be ready for play at anytime now. Definitely will be back when they open the greens up for play.
Terrible course
To start off I booked a tee time on Golf Now and it said the Greens were under constuction starting 2021. Seeing how it is September of 2022 I was not expecting temporary tees. When we arrived the employee told us the cart lady was not working today and they had temporary greens. The fairways were nothing but swamp land and the temporary greens were in the middle of the swamp so you couldn't even putt. Then they had lawn mowers and hydro seeders driving on the course making all kinds of noise. Then proceeded to drive all over the hole we were playing at the time. I will never be going back to this course and I don't recommend it at all. Complete waste of money!
18 Temporary Greens (almost ready to reopen real greens)
Great practice course until greens reopen (they really are looking great, almost ready). Fairways were wet due to recent rain however in great shape to practice all your shots. A few tees were relocated so I can’t comment on their condition.
Don’t go
Temp greens Not mentioned. Drove 20 miles and found out when we got there.
Great course minus temp greens
Awesome course when the greens open back up, loved the layout and the condition of the course otherwise
Not a great course
Confusing layout, not many signs directing you to the next hole. Course was very wet, ground was a sponge. Hitting off the fairway caused a mess.
I was made aware of temporary greens but the par 3’s were pointless. 40 yards away and impossible to putt.
Also the smell was awful. Smelled like a swamp with a large number of goose droppings.
Caveat on greens...
The other reviews here slamming the course about the greens are way off base and wholly unfair. If you book, especially for the first time, without looking at the past reviews, then just be quiet about the greens situation. The course is still fun to play and at a fairly reasonable price.
Great place
Played here for a few years now. Can't wait until the greens are up and running again.
Avoid this course
All greens are burned and not playing. The greens have been moved to the fairway. Some tee boxes are also moved.
Very mad that we paid good money and had a crappy course.
Temp Greens
Temporary greens s are a little slow but playable had to eyeball and guesstimate for my approach shots
Bent Creek Jacksonville
Absolutely the worst condition I have ever seen in
Worse round ever !
All of the greens were closed. The pins were just randomly put in the fairway wherever looked good. Tee boxes were moved on some holes. Now I know why there was literally nobody else there playing. I feel like they shouldn’t even charge you to play on that course it is so bad. I will not be back. This was in Father’s Day and there was not a single person in the range either.
Sawgrass Marriott Golf Resort Stay & Play Package
World Golf Village Stay & Play Package
I can't believe they are charging $32 for half a course. They will have temporary greens all summer. The price should be less than half and there should be a flag that pops up when you book it that explains you can't use the greens. When it's normal, this is a good course though.
