Bent Creek Golf Course
About
Since the opening of Bent Creek Golf Course in 1989, the 6,420-yard, par-71 course has provided a challenging golf experience for residents of Northeast Florida and visitors alike.
Crafted by renowned architect Bobby Weed with consulting services by Mark McCumber, Bent Creek's meandering terrain takes golfers through a certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary, towering pines and alongside creeks and swales. The championship layout boasts Bermuda grass greens, plush fairways and a state-of-the-art lighted practice facility - home of the Bent Creek Golf Academy.
From the back tees, Bent Creek carries a rating of 71.6 and a slope of 136. The challenge starts with the first hole, which measures 538 yards from the gold tees, just 20 yards short of No. 15, the longest hole on the golf course.

Bummer greens
No greens. Look like greens have been ruined by chemical burn.
Greens have been Destroyed
WARNING-not worth your money. There is zero grass on the greens because some idiot killed them. This course just had all the greens re-done. How does the superintendent let something like this happen! So sad.
Also, I showed up with my 2 sons. One of my sons is only 5 years old and had never been on a golf course before was just planning on hitting a few range balls with him. Well, the range was closed -not a soul out there other then us and it was 12:30 in the afternoon. I chipped with him for 30 min until our tee time and then saw them open up the range as we headed to the 1st tee box. UNBELIEVABLE. These people are clueless.
If Troon was smart they would get some fresh blood in there. Greens couldn’t have died at a worse time. The course will be worthless until next spring. And that’s only if they decide to re-do the greens again. If they try to just nurse them back to life they will be worse then they were before.
Good but not for the money
I love the layout of this course but 50$ for horribly burned greens with crab weeds growing is not good
(BURNED) All 18 Greens now Sand
The course did an excellent job redoing all 18 greens less than a year ago and an employee must have sprayed them with the wrong chemicals? It was not worth paying to play a course without any grass on their greens!
The course is in decent shape except the greens. Apparently they messed them up. They roll super fast and are so hard that your approach shot better be dropping straight down with plenty of backspin if you want to stay on the green. The fairways were very nice.
Everything moved right along, and the refreshment cart came by 4 times.
Lost all greens
Greens completely bare; absolutely no grass. Still charged same rates without informing about greens condition….
Great layout and course: Greens have been let go completely
I’ve played this course twice now. The first time I played it was around 2-3 months ago. The greens were brand new and in mint condition. I went back yesterday expecting that same level of green play. I was very wrong. The greens were all completely dead and worn out as if no one tended to them since the last time I played. Truly a shame that the grounds keeping team let such a big investment go to crap. Other than that it’s one of my favorite layouts to play
Bent Creek
Great layout but damaged greens so not worth the value.
Greens are dead - Golfnow and Bent Creek Should have warned customers of this upfront.
I have played this course many times over the years and have loved it. But now the greens have no grass and it is like playing on concrete. Completely unplayable conditions. There should be a warning when booking kind of like you see when a course just aerates the greens. I am all for supporting them as they work through the issue but be upfront about it. Anyone who recently played this course deserves a refund or a raincheck to make up for this lack of transparency.
Destroyed greens
Greens rebuilt last year. Someone sprayed them qith herbicides. L
Greens are Dead
Go somewhere else. The greens are dead. Also not the most friendliest of folks in the pro shop.
Bent Out Of Shape
I’ve played Bent Creek many times over the years and never has it been in such bad shape. Apparently, the greens are being redone so it appears they intentionally killed all the grass on the all the greens. The fairways were the only positive on the entire course. No warning before paying green fees. Absolute disappointment.
Greens are destroyed
Greens are wholly destroyed at this point. Difficult to recommend playing this course until the greens are fixed. Don't know what happened but it was all 18 of them.
New Greens are Dead
Greens were redone last year and they are already in state of disrepair. They are dead. Completely brown on each hole. Approach shots will not hold and just roll off the back of the green. Speed is impossible to control. Would not recommend spending your money here. It’s sad to see the complete lack of care in these greens, as I’m sure they spent a lot of money completely redoing the greens last year. This course used to be one of the best in West Jacksonville, there is so much potential as the course layout is challenging but a lot of fun. And forget about playing a 4 hour round. The pace of play is laughable. No rangers on the course leads to 5 - 5&1/2 hour rounds. Truly disappointing to see this happen to this course.
New Greens??…
Greens were in terrible condition. For a course that just redid every green it’s pretty sad that they are all brown and dead. Not a single approach shot held as everything just runs off the back and putting was a struggle with the speed and dead spots
New greens are ruined.
Unfortunately someone scorched the brand new greens/collars and they are gone. A worker there told me if they can’t get them back they’ll have to rip them up again and start over. What a shame and place was starting to come around. If they do have to redo them I hope they deal with the drainage issues they never fixed the last time.
