Bent Creek Golf Course
About
Since the opening of Bent Creek Golf Course in 1989, the 6,420-yard, par-71 course has provided a challenging golf experience for residents of Northeast Florida and visitors alike.
Crafted by renowned architect Bobby Weed with consulting services by Mark McCumber, Bent Creek's meandering terrain takes golfers through a certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary, towering pines and alongside creeks and swales. The championship layout boasts Bermuda grass greens, plush fairways and a state-of-the-art lighted practice facility - home of the Bent Creek Golf Academy.
From the back tees, Bent Creek carries a rating of 71.6 and a slope of 136. The challenge starts with the first hole, which measures 538 yards from the gold tees, just 20 yards short of No. 15, the longest hole on the golf course.

Nothing great about the course
Greens were in decent shape but inconsistent firmness. Fairways had lots of weeds, portions of rough were soggy. I will cut some slack bc of all the recent rain. Cart path needs work as it was very uneven. Most holes had a dirt path after a portion of concrete. 1 of the wooden bridges was unfinished with some construction equipment near the hole, with no signs stating the boards were not fixed in place. Very sketchy. Read multiple reviews stating this was the best public course in Jacksonville, they must have paid for those.
Soggy day
We played Friday, after hurricane, course is in great shape , we had cart path every hole , greens are great , so we'll go back now that storm is gone
Amazing greens
The tee boxes and fairways are in recovery as expected from a summer drought then 15 inches of rain in 12 days but are not terrible. But the greens are in immaculate conditions and some of the toughest I have ever putted on.
Great 18 for the price
Have played multiple times here. Staff always nice. Range is nice and maintained. Chipping and putting aswell. Overall great course to play. Will return
Off the beaten track nice golf course
I come out to Bent Creek about once a month. It's located in the southwest corner of Jacksonville, near Clay County and a drive to get to, but worth the trip. It's not a pristine course in terms of condition but certainly playable. Holes #11 and #15 are great holes worth making the trip to play. Also numerous tee boxes give golfers of all ages and abilities to have a fun day of golf.
Good round
Course in good condition. Evern with all the rain we had. They are working hard to improve everything.
Really nice public track!
Great layout, very nice practice facilities and the golf course is in good shape. I few burned out areas but understandable in all this heat. Greens rolled nicely!
Best Value in Jax
Pace is good. Greens are good for the summer except a certain couple of holes. Love the mix of layouts. Short par 4s make it fun and engaging.
Pace of play
Course- great shape. Fun layout
Pace of play was HORRIBLE!!! At one point three groups on same hole. Front nine was good. Back nine almost packed it up and went home. 20 wait every tee box. 15 min wait for 2nd shot. Called into clubhouse. Very friendly. Ranger did nothing to speed up play. 99 degrees to sit and cook for the price we paid was not enjoyable at all! Love this course too bad the pace was so terrible. Makes me question going back.
Pleasantly Surprised
Course is in good shape. Greens roll true and have some pace to them. Grass on all the fairways. A few tee boxes were a bit sketchy but you can tell they have put some work/money back into the course. One of the better deals pricewise in the metroplex.
Getting it right
Course is definitely going thru some reno but you can see all the great things they are doing. Its going to be great very soon
Horrendous
First off, I looked forward to this course very much after all the positive reviews. I will say the course itself is beautiful, and in good shape. The greens were recently punched so take that as you will. The pace of play is horrendous. As a single golfer, I knew I would play faster than the 3-4 mans out there. It took me 3.5 hours to play 15 holes, and ended up skipping 3 holes due to sitting on the tee box for 10-15 mins every single time. When I made it to Hole 15, there was 4 separate groups playing the same hole. Hole 18, I have balls flying over my head from the tee box while I’m hitting my approach shot. Find another course to play in the Jacksonville area.
Great day at the course!
a few dry spots in fairways (hello, Florida) but overall great shape. slow play with no Marshall on the weekend...made for a slow round
